Together, let’s “Expand the Hive”!
“Swarming” represents the mechanism by which a hive grows and expands. This is preceded by worker bees preparing a series of “queen cups” where eggs for new queens are placed and sealed inside.
Just before a new queen emerges from one of the sealed queen cups, a portion of the hive will swarm to a new location with the new queen, thus multiplying the geographic and numeric size of the hive.
I have created this “Expand the Hive” community as a place where ideas to expand the overall Hive community can be planted, nourished, & pruned.
In the coming days, I will be posting some of my own ideas and I welcome others to do the same, so that we can constructively criticize and expand upon each other’s thoughts.

I am glad to hear how #Hive is helping folks like you in Venezuela. I have created a new community called Spring 2021 Seminar (https://hive.blog/trending/hive-112987) where I will be posting the content from a class I teach (Entrepreneurial Value Creation in Society). This week's lesson is entitled Socialism Sucks and includes a lecture by Dr. Ben Powell (Texas Tech Univ). In the lecture, Dr. Powell talks about Venezuela's downward spiral that began as 'Democratic Socialism' and invariably and inevitably became an outright dictatorship (which, of course, is exactly what F. A. Hayek warned about in his 1945 book, The Road to Serfdom, which my students will be reading in a couple weeks).
Great idea for a community! I'll finish some ideas about expanding Hive that I have written down and contribute.
Hey, sorry for mentioning all of you.. I hope its not inappropriate or annoying.. I wanted to suggest making a discord server for this idea, and creating some content together using that medium of exchange, and put out some podcasts, or vlogs talking about the things we are doing or have done in regards to promoting the ideas that hive are founded on: cryptography, blockchain, decentralization, community consesus, proof of work, self monetization, and all of the other things.. Maby have some kind of round table discussion like the guys on the Leo finance podcast have.. and maby have some community interaction (us folks motivated to take initiative in regards to outreach) with some of the big names in hive, to show and aspect of Creator/New user interaction.
In regards to the discord server.. I want to wait for Trost to give some input, and others aswell.. as far as who is going to take the reigns on that responsibility.

Nice, just waiting for some more input, before I pull the trigger and make the discord server.. Im not sure if @jarvie plans to do more podcasts/conversations with me.. But I think if we are to do that moving forward, than having a group of dedicated folks talking about this stuff, and writing up points of concern or points of action up onto a list, and then delegating 1 person (not always me) to go and have the conversation with jarvie, or whoever else, and to ask those question.. giving more than just one person an opportunity to try speaking, and recording, their conversation/thoughts and preserving them in perpetuity.
Its all fun, its all community! haha

Looking forward to reading your ideas! From my experience, one of the best ways to onboard new people is by word of mouth. In my case, I joined because I saw an ad on Facebook 3 years ago, but I believe that method is not effective for everyone.
I have also seen that if users feel appreciated, they will stay active and motivated, and with time, they will even consider investing in HIVE to grow their account. There are many ways to grow HIVE, and if we all come together, we will be successful.
Yes, word of mouth is the key. However, we truly need to reduce the friction associated with creating an account and getting started. Widespread engagement requires both word-of-mouth and ease of adoption.
Yes, that is also very important. At the moment, one of the easiest ways to create an account is through LeoFinance.io. It can be made with a Twitter account, or for people who are already familiar with crypto, they can use Metamask. This option is fully decentralized and more private.
I'm sure that there will be more alternatives in the future, hiveonboard.com is also a good option, but it can be a little difficult for some.
Interesting, I will look forward to seeing more ideas from you. Hive has a lot of potentials and together with many ideas we can make Hive the best. Hive changed many people's life including myself and Hive is all about people and communities... We just need to spread our words and show the world what is exactly HIVE...

This concept reminds me of entomology (the study of insects), I think give will be having a great boom in this days
We need a guide or tutorial to help expand the Hive... So when we are talking about it to outsiders we can say... Hey look this awesome blockchain blah blah here is a post with all you need to know and do when on Hive. Something like what @Hivebuzz is making with their tour of hive.

My current efforts are focused on education. @HiveToday is a weekly newsletter which covers development updates for various Hive dapps and games. I recently started sharing short newsy blurbs on Twitter under the same handle (@HiveToday), hoping to catch some eyeballs and show the world the tools Hivers are building.
I've followed you on twitter. However, I have greatly reduced the time I spend on twitter. The dopamine hits on Hive are so much more meaningful and rewarding!

Very good idea to create an exclusive community to grow the hive, for sure we will be seeing many publications here, we have a very creative community, I feel that things are taking a very good path in the chain and proposals like this can be crucial for its massive expansion.
