RE: Writing Club: A Community Dedicated to Writing and Literature

in Writing Club3 years ago

I am trying to learn a little bit about writing and I am working on a story. The last writing community changed its policy, closed it doors, (I thought it was just closed for contest entries), and now I have a muted post that people need to un-mute to read.

Hello and thank you for posting in The Ink Well.
The community is closed for the winter holidays and only accepting entries to the Writing Prize. The Ink Well will open again on Monday 11 January with the Fast and Furious Festival.
Please follow @theinkwell to get the latest news.
Season's Greetings 🎄

Now I have already followed this community, prior to trying to continue the story I was working on a few things I need to know.

1 - Can I post works in progress here.

  • Understand I am talking about a book length story.
  • Not a full story that will fit in one post only.
  • Not a chapter that will fit in one post only.
  • Not something that is ready to be fully published, (I will be using a spell checker and proof reading for errors but the post is first draft status)
2 - Will I be allowed to include links to other parts of the story (TOC) including the currently muted post that people will need to unmute?
3 - Do you plan on implementing or requiring statements that it is original content?
4 - I have no control over if others crosspost my content, I do not expect it to happen, but I do not cross-post my content other than including it in my blog and on my post page when I post through the community pages.
5 - I do not have a University or collage education, I have not studied literature, I am just a guy experimenting with trying to write a Fantasy story

If the community is going to only focus on short one blog post stories then please let me know so I do not waste your time, and before I have a second post from my story muted.

Also the internet is a 24 hour 7 day a week, 365 days a year, and does not close, so if posting during a Closed time is going to result in a muted post I would like to know in advance.

Welcome to our community, our goal is to grow as writers, so we are not limiting anyone in terms of writing, we are not asking anything specific, just that you take into consideration some recommendations when publishing your content.

Everything is explained in our introduction, we have taken some areas of writing to give recommendations, however, they are not limiting.

We want to polish the work of writers and learn from them, as well as recommend the right way to present the content according to the type of literature they are sharing with us.

Thank you for the response, I always try to take constructive criticism with an open mind, if the individual giving can also keep an open mind, and are receptive to questions about their points so that my learning can continue.

There are a few things that still concern me one being the phrase:

as well as recommend the right way to present the content according to the type of literature they are sharing with us.

I will give the community a try, and see what happens.
