Hello Actifitters,
I had been pondering returning to the MAcFiT competition with a special Christmas edition. The inauguration of @Poliac Season 15 spurred me into action.
This post is just a heads-up, all the details will come in due time.
The reason for writing this announcement is that most players of @Poliac Golden League will earn a guaranteed slot in the MAcFit Christmas Special competition and their final position will determine seeding (placement in groups).
The competition will start with a group stage (4 groups with 8 players each), played in single round-robin mode. Then a play-off round (top 4 players from each group) will be held, followed by Final Four, both played in "walk alone" mode.
32 players will compete. 24 slots will be pre-filled and 8 open for qualification.

*Since the top players of @MAcFiT Ranking and @poprzeczka are in majority playing in @Poliac Golden League, it is possible that free entry slots will be awarded to Silver League players, according to their positions in the final standigs.
Qualifiers
All remaining @Poliac Golden and Silver League players, all current @Poprzeczka players and all players with at least 1 point in @MAcFiT Ranking are welcome to join and try to qualify for the remaining 8 slots.

Qualifiers: Dec 15 - Dec 16
Since this overlaps with @Poliac season, I will collect results of all @poliac players (you don't have to do anything extra to participate!). All other candidates will have to comment my announcement post and paste their step counts

Play-off (2 match days): Dec 29 - Dec 30
Final Four (2 match days): Dec 31 - Jan 1

yes. The qualifiers will be played while the Golden/Silver leagues are still in play. So I will simply copy results from their updates.

you are in, as Silver League player, you will be able to participate in qualifications. Look for further announcements.
The MACFIT Ranking lists players who have played in MAcFiT competitions - you haven't.

Hey, great to see Macfit back! These dates at the end of the year are probably not good for my stepping, but I'll try my best as usual!

everyone will be challenged getting away from the frenzy of shopping and all the festivities. It's going to be very quick and dynamic. I am planning a mixture of head to head duels (group stage - round robin) with "walk alone" mode that we introduced in MAcFiT some time ago (play-offs and Final Four). The fun factor will be that the play-offs will be played without any breaks, so we will be competing without knowing why we did in a previous round ;-)
Luckily I don't have to deal with shopping and festivities, since I don't care about Christmas. But as usual I will probably travel, it's by far the cheapest time of the year to fly. Not easy to get steps in a plane!
