Loss is nothing else but change, and change is nature's delight.

A couple of years ago I started this community - a place to post my firearms and outdoor-adventure content. I didn't expect many others to post here but a few did. Two years later still only a very few post here, and that's ok, I don't mind if I'm the only one who does.

But here's the thing

I love reading some of the content others have placed here and figured there might be other great outdoorsy stuff around as well - I don't want to miss out on it so I've made a few changes.

What you can post

I've changed the name to lean the community more generally at outdoor adventures, experiences and activities of all sorts.

Camping, hiking, four-wheel-driving and off road motorbiking, on and in the water adventures like kayaking, rafting and canoeing, wilderness (fire) cooking, scuba and fishing, survival and preparedness posts are all welcome. Homesteading, first aid, self-sufficiency through DIY and gardening plus technical and tutorial posts and reviews around your outdoor-life equipment and gadgets are also encouraged. Your nomad or off-grid life and, of course, hunting, archery and firearms-related posting is also suggested.

Basically, it's a community covering all things outdoor adventure related and much more.

What you can't post

Political rants are unwelcome, as is religious posting, and paraphrasing YouTube videos and podcasts isn't acceptable either. It's an experienced-based community where you share your own experiences and so on, not a news service. Don't post about cities and towns or buildings, they're not natural places.

I know there's a lot of communities and that some of what I propose you might post here could fit other communities such as WEEKEND EXPERIENCES to name but one, however it's here for those who wish to post something suitable and I curate in here daily, personally and for @curangel.

I will be looking for and curating on the tag #outdoorlife so make sure that your first tag for appropriate posts if you like.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me below, I'll be happy to clear them up for you, and should you feel like posting here you might like to take a look at the community rules before you do.

Gorgeous shots! You have this outdoor thing down pat. I think this will open the community a lot more!

Thank you, all mine, all a very valued memory.

Let's see how the community goes. I set up a curation account for it also, delegated a little to it, and will vote from there as well as my own account.

That's a great way to do it.

River helped me with some suggestions here and there...I'm a bloody knucklehead after all.

Noooo! Say it isn't true!

My knukleheaded ways are cute and endearing. 🤣

Of course they are. Don't let anyone tell you different. 😀

This is the first time I am seeing this. You are a man with so many fun and wonderful sides. I just read about the contest not too long ago too. This should be fun. My curiosity is heightened and would love to read so many entries.

You are a man with so many fun and wonderful sides.

And some not so nice ones, depending on the situation.

🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 absolutely and understandable.

I also did not know that he has this community 🤣.. Just today

😂😂🤣😂😂🤣 he is a man full of dynamism and wonderment 🤩🤩😍🥰🥰

Interesting! I couldn't figure out why I wasn't seeing this community in my list, and then I saw a different community and realized that you probably changed the name. 😊

Yeah, a little name change to better suit the permitted content. Everyone thought it was all about guns but the scope of topics is more broad.

This is disappointing to see. The Pew community seemed like it had a reasonable, if not already fairly broad scope. Now it's been diluted to the point that the original community purpose seems irrelevant. You own and did most of the heavy lifting to build this community so you can do what you want with it of course, but it seems like this is a big pivot away from the original topic of firearms, hunting, and shooting practice/sport.

I was pretty much the only one posting firearms related stuff (especially lately) and that won't change. There were occasionally others, but rarely. None of that changes, as those topics are still permitted, with the exception of spinning YouTube videos which I personally see as valueless.

Had there been a half dozen regular firearms posts a week I would probably have left it, but there was not. So, there will be the same number of firearms posts, (mine) plus some other things, possibly. It's not a popular community though and never will be as it's not linked with any curation initiatives or big voters - People will post where they feel they can get a bigger reward. That's my understanding of it anyway.

I have always appreciated you coming by and throwing a vote on some of the posts people have done. Thank you.

I see where you're coming from (and going) a little better now. Fair points.

Thanks mate, and also for your support, it never goes unnoticed.

You're welcome!

Ok, Thought we lost the community there for a minute.. ala FB, but then wait, this is a decentralized platform with no censorship! I have to admit I'll miss the Pew name, but I like the expansion, which seemed to be happening anyway, this should drive even more great content. Tks for taking the time to manage and curate it!

I didn't like the direction it had taken, paraphrasing YouTube videos and all, so went ahead and changed the rules a little to preclude them, and that evolved into a full change. Firearms are still permitted of course, and I'll post about that stuff, but so few others were it didn't seem worth sticking with the name.

It'll never be a very popular community for various reasons I think, but that's ok. Those who post here will post for the right reasons I think, rather than just for rewards from curation initiatives.

Now this is definitely up my dirt road. You really have created a variety of communities! I'm sure with little effort the outdoorsies will share their experiences. As always your nature photos are breathtaking! Those varies shots of the vivid blues and greens of nature really talk to me. They epitomise life and natural living

Hey you buckaroobaby bonkersaroobaby, good to hear from you. 😊

This community was always intended for outdoorsy stuff, not just firearms, but I guess people didn't know. Two years later I'm getting around to changing it up. I figured you'd have something to add if you saw it.

I hope you're well. 😉

Guess I didn't express (or edit) myself sufficiently. I meant that the highlight on the outdoors will get a bigger interest than firearms. Especially as many nature lovers seem to abhor firearms and not understand that everything has it's place and purpose. We have experienced that many times out here. We have the tree huggers that have rather aggresively handled the majority of farmers who use (let's say) drastic but necessary measures to ..... ummmm .... manage predators that destroy either our livestock or crops and fruit trees. But - hey - someone must be bonkers on that controversial subject.

On a side note. I've been gone for a couple weeks. What happened to Andy? Did her ex really chase her away?

Don't worry, I'll still put firearms stuff into the community, but yeah I know what you mean. It happens here in Australia too. They whinge about shooters...whilst eating bacon and eggs for breakfast. Wankers.

On the last, yes that's exactly what happened. I know all, but won't say much here on the blockchain. It's a big shame, but sometimes drastic measures are required.

That's really sad

I guess that statement applies to both your paragraphs

The situation with that user, the position someone has put her in...It's very sad.

The first paragraph also.

Let there be more incredible outdoor adventures... x

Indeed ☺️

Hmm I have a question, so does it mean we use #pewcontest as the first tag for contest posts and use #outdoorlife as the first tag for the rest of the posts?

Hmm I have a question, so does it mean we use #pewcontest

Correct for the contest post.

You don't have to use #outdoorlife as a tag to post in the community, it's just that I will look for it to curate.

Glad I stumbled on an article such as this . One cannot just get enough of juicy info on an amazing platform such as this . My question as regards the writing competition, can one write on collection of books one has in possession as well ?

No not really, it's a community about outdoor adventure and experiences, not books. Although, I guess it depends what the books are about I guess. If they're about map reading, navigational, wilder ess survival and so in, then it may be ok. Without know what the subject matter is I can't confidently advise you.

Okay ! Got it , thanks for the feedback .

i'll think i can do some garden pictures every now and then ;)

Make it about outdoor adventure and you're good to go. Pictures of your garden...Hmm, not so much.

ok I'll keep that in mind , probably not much to post from me then but always fun to watch other peoples adventures .
i prefer to do the smaller adventures myself these days , big adventures are in the past.

well i came across this adventure in my garden 🤣

but don't think it belongs in your group .

big ant sneaking up on aphids ... have a great sunday

Great snap! But no, it's probably not suited to The outdoors and more community.

Hola, esta muy genial tu blog, soy prácticamente nuevo y hay ocasiones donde no se dónde publicar y ya eh perdido varias publicaciones porque no se dónde colocarlos, de vez en cuando hago camping y parapente, este sitio está genial.

Hello, this very cool your blog, I'm practically new and there are times where I do not know where to post and I have already lost several publications because I do not know where to place them, occasionally I do camping and paragliding, this site is great.

Hi there. No worries, this seems like the place to post that sort of content, just follow the rules, remember that posts must be in English, not dual language. I'll see you around.

New guy here. I jumped on this community and one other outdoor community because I love a lot of things you listed. Is disc golf something that would find a place here? I freelance write for a living and would love to delve into some of my disc golf adventures if you think it’s something this community would like. Love the post btw and I look forward to sharing some of my posts here!

Hey mate, I hope you're well.

The brief here is outdoorsy/adventure stuff so I don't see why you couldn't post about it considering it happens out doors. You know how to write well, obviously, so I'm sure you'll angle it the right way, like an adventure of sorts I guess.

Thanks for asking, I appreciate it, and don't hesitate to ask for clarification in the future if you need.

nice shots man and the quality of that picture is damn gorgeous
