What A Beautiful World We Live In!

I consider myself very lucky, as I have been to so many amazing places around
the world. Since I was a little girl, I dreamt of travelling to far away lands. To explore the natural world and all it's wonder. Nature has always been my safe haven, my sanctuary and I wanted to see it all.

Mountains

When I was in my twenties I went to Peru and spent some time in the Andes. Hiking and camping in front of Glaciers. Chewing Caca leaves to help me deal with the altitude. It was such an amazing experience. But one I did not capture on camera. I was completely absorbed in the moment.

Mountains are so humbling, to walk amongst them, you feel exactly how significant you are in the grand scheme of things. These Mountains, are a part of the Pyrenees, in Ariege to be exact. I was lucky enough to have this as my view every morning for two Mountains. It was where my bus was parked up.

4bEjbgCbFMvAGbwxD9CJfJUznpDy21P1gb5kciUwoKrnYbGbNVgJCYqgbJ9zC7NMqywPCP5pmJ7Z9vxwL6LWjsEyXgM88aPJwUr4GTx4Yodfufqu6X2M7qervRmBQ8WtTtmZT8kMgvy4yF8UsRx6M8mFkeqLLDuFgaWqmW1VHJxtVHLFaW.jpeg

Some mornings we were level with the clouds. It felt quite regal to live high up on the clouds. I loved being so removed from society. I could spend hours roaming the mountainside with my kids.

Further in the Pyrenees, we visited a friend, who loved in the house you can see int the above photo. She was even more cut off from society, with no neighbours for miles and having to use a pulley system to get heavy supplies up to her home. But the views were stunning, as you can see. You really felt like you were on top of the world.

I had to include this photo from the trek I did here in Spain, in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This, was one of my favourite places that we camped at. High up, with Waterfalls dotted throughout. If you look closely you can see one in the left hand corner.

Forests

I always feel so at ease, amongst trees. They have the most calming presence and I could never live somewhere, where there were none around me.

4bEjbgCbFMvAGbwxD9CJfJUznpDy21P1gb5kciUwoKrnYbGbNVgJCYqgbJ9zC7NMqywPCP5pmJ7Z9vxwKSt9C5yT2vwi2RLdFeEe5VmFxPi6QoHgz4WAPNamsF6isMsGtWbSqctB1JfJ6tj66EzZVNj2nhCmGPVP2TVZAupC5N6Xp7toTt.jpeg

This shot is also from the trek I done.
With Solas the horse, surrounded by trees and ferns. I love to camp in the wild, to sleep at night to the sound of nature and awaken to its full glory. Walking almost everyday, to find a new spot to camp. This trek was one of the most amazing things I have done and I plan on doing another, in the future.

4bEjbgCbFMvAGbwxD9CJfJUznpDy21P1gb5kciUwoKrnYbGbNVgJCYqgbJ9zC7NMqywPCP5pmJ7Z9vxwKSt9B3Hf9okSwHthCjfQZiidAw6a962QfnDo44iWipiqNhy7QFAdnVf78K7hFsxVh16i8btHh3frqT54Re4tfB6SHaV4BvBxSa.webp

From Spain to Ireland, Co. Cork to be precise. Down in the Beara Peninsula. This is a place of great power, with many standing stones and forts in these parts. With forests that hold stories of old.

And then to the Taman Negara Rainforest in Malaysia, which is one of the oldest in the world. Oh how I dreamed as a little girl, to get to go to the jungle. I wanted to run away and live there, to make a home in the trees and make friends with all the creatures that lived there. Palenque in Mexico was the first one I visited, when I was in my twenties. It blew my mind, I was so overcome I wept.

A few years later, I made it to the Amazon. I spend two weeks camped out in it. The whole forest sounded like an orchestra at night. At first, it was hard for me to get any sleep, but then it lulled me and I slept so well.

I even got to see some river dolphins. These jungle photos though, are from Malaysia. I was there for week. My fourth jungle to explore. I dream of getting to explore them all.

Water

I have been to some of the most beautiful beaches. In South and Central America, Africa and Asia. Being next to the sea is so grounding. I have spend some time living next to the ocean and I long to do so again.

4bEjbgCbFMvAGbwxD9CJfJUznpDy21P1gb5kciUwoKrnYbGbNVgJCYqgbJ9zC7NMqywPCP5pmJ7Z9vxwL6LWifMs6BmSJzeC1ZiaZjrJbN48pKGPjdht7D7h6qNQnwWKeiWEErtJ91kNXX1Gq4NLefeucRELLm9a39ead3edXPLEAHYoCS.webp

This beautiful stretch of beach, is in Western Australia. Between Margaret River and Denmark. I was living in a van at the time and found this beach deserted. That's what I loved about the West Coast, how vast and empty it was, even more so up the North. I did travel up there too, but unfortunately have no photos of that time.

Ireland has water in abundance, with so many beautiful rivers flowing through the Emerald Isle. This is the River Burrow in Co Laois. It is so green snd lush. I walked alongside it with my girls, the last time I was in Ireland. I do miss the green of home sometimes, the abundance of nettles, ferns and moss.

This last picture, is from here in Spain. Los Bermejales,to be exact. I was there just a couple of weeks ago as the festival I was working at, was beside it. The turquoise colour is so beautiful and it felt so good to swim in its waters. I love to swim out and then just float, lying back and basking in the beauty of it all.

This is my entry in to @galenkp Scenery posting contest. These pictures represent some of my favourite places, that I managed to capture. Because sometimes when I am in the wild, the last thing that occurs to me, is to take a picture. But I am glad that I have these, that I can share these wonderful places with you all.

A very wonderful write up Ashylnn!

I hope to live like you one day, as much as i can in nature and away from the confines of the killbox society.

I find it very difficult to come back into society that's full of vanity and ego, where i do not belong. Everytime i make the return trip, i know i have improved and grew in multitude of ways, yet everyone in the cities never seemed to move an inch. I find this very disheartening.

Anyway i'm out for a walk. Thanks for all the inspiring work you do!

Thank you @jin-out for your lovely comment. Here's to you finding your home out in nature xxxx

Oh my goodness all of these places are spectacular! You have been blessed to have gone to all these. The Ireland shot is a lot like where I live now, all streams and rivers and green green green. The quiet is what I love, or lack of human sound I should say, because nature's orchestra is the most interesting music I have ever heard. Love all of this. I'm so happy for you.

You are so lucky to love where you live by this brief description, @owasco! But wouldn't it be great to go on a Hive girls horse trek somewhere beautiful?

Yes! It would! I haven't ridden a horse in more than 50 years though lol.

I think we walk and the horses carry wine and crackers 😂👍🤷‍♀️

I'm in!

You said that a little bit too fast 😂 Excellent.

Thank you beautiful, I do feel very lucky indeed.
And yes the quiet, that's what I need as well xxxxx

Thanks for entering the scenery contest with 75 Hive in prizes in the Outdoors and More community - follow the link for how to enter if interested.

Wow!! If I ever went to half of the wonderful places you've gone to, I'd carry me head up and never bring it down. Everything about this spells beautiful, majestic and ethreal. From the forest, to the mountain and my personal favourite, the water. Just imagine that you didn't have a means to capture this beautiful scenery. So happy for you dear.🤗

Ah thank you @jhymi. Travelling certainly makes me very happy xxx

This world is indeed a beautiful place but haven't travel like you did I wish I could visited a beautiful place like you did

Wow, some amazing shots in here. That one with the horse is especially good.

When I was in my twenties I went to Peru and spent some time in the Andes. Hiking and camping in front of Glaciers. Chewing Caca leaves to help me deal with the altitude. It was such an amazing experience. But one I did not capture on camera. I was completely absorbed in the moment.

That sounds unreal, I never made it to South America, I'd love to go some day. My sister lives in Rio, so nothing stopping me really, but kids still too young.

Oh wow, I love Brazil. What an amazing adventure you'll have when you do make it out there.
Thanks @ablaze xxxxx

Ya hopefully in the next five years, we'll do the trip..

Beautiful post. I love the photos. Isn't it funny how we didn't take many photos back in the day. If we knew how much we would want to return to those moments we would have spared the expense and brought more film 😂

I didn't get a digital camera til 2002 and even then it'd hold about thirty photos before I'd have to transfer them to a computer to clear the memory card.

I've been to Teman Negara! I'd love to go to Costa Rica and I'd love to go on a horse trek with you..

Yeah the places are all etched in my mind that's for sure. Now we are all so snap happy, a bit too much to be honest. I see some people more interested in getting a good photo rather than actually enjoying their surroundings. I love Teman Negara and yes to Costa Rica and a trek together ❤
