LoL (and Dota2) always has been a hop-on hop-off game for me. It gave me the best and worst moments in my gamer life.
Actually a pretty weird behaviour if you ask me :D
And still, at least once a year I install it again to play a few games. Always entertaining, even after so many years.
I only can recommend to everyone to try it out.
That's right, I have good and bad experiences with this game. It is a game very dependent on the people you play with, otherwise, it can become a toxic environment.
