Preparations for sowing begin now !

Preparations for sowing begin as soon as the harvest is over.
After I have finished harvesting and plowed the garden.
It is time to prepare for the next sowing.
I ordered a greenhouse and it has arrived. It is not big, 3 x 2 x 2 m.
But it is enough for a start, so we will see.
I plan to install it after this year, of course a lot depends on the weather conditions. For now it's sitting in a box in the pantry, waiting.

What worried me, and turned out to be true.
Is the fertility of the soil.
Although I had been throwing manure in previous years, I was afraid that the amount was not enough.
On the net, through a popular online store, I bought a meter for measuring soil fertility, soil moisture and soil pH.
If anyone has had experience with this, I would welcome experience with this and similar meters.
Of course, I think it is not 100% accurate, but it at least gives an approximate value.

Of course I know about the folk test for soil fertility.
You bury a pure white cotton cloth (in our country they jokingly say it must be the landlord's underpants) about thirty centimeters deep in the garden or where you want to test the fertility of the soil.
After 3-4 weeks, dig up where you buried the cloth.
-if the cloth is whole, fertility is zero
-If the cloth has started to decompose, in holes, fertility is half
If the cloth is completely decomposed, or only some parts of it remain, fertility is completely
I didn't want to bury my underpants :) so I bought this meter.
The meter is easy to use, set what you want to measure on the red switch. and then gently stick the meter into the ground, you don't need to force it, it's important that it goes into the ground gently and stands straight.

I first tested the soil in the garden itself, and the result was bad.

Then I tested the soil in the orchard around the orchards themselves, the situation is a little better.

And then, as a control, I decided to test the soil under the manure. And there it is, the result is excellent.

The meter showed roughly what I expected and that the highest fertility was under manure
Since I was unable to make enough manure for the garden and orchard
And I have nowhere to buy it in the village, and my sister used up their horse manure.
I was forced to buy it and start with the autumn fertilization of the garden and orchard.
Since I did not want artificial fertilizer.
We set out in search of some organic fertilizer.

After a couple of days of searching, we found the only organic fertilizer at our place, I couldn't find anything else.

The garden alone is about 250 square meters
One 25-kilogram bag is for an area of 170 square meters
Counting the orchard and other fruit in the front garden, I bought three 25-kilogram bags
It was enough for everything, I even added it to the flowers.Since this fertilizer can be added during the growing season.

The fertilizer is in granules, easy to use.
They announced rain tomorrow so today I spread all the fertilizer around the garden, orchard and other plants. It was enough for everything, I even added it to the flowers.Since this fertilizer can be added during the growing season.

Thanks for reading.
Until next time.
Stay healthy.

It's amazing you have that apparatus to measure soil fertility. Here in our community we don't have that. Hoping for a better yield!
