Motor racing back in the day never put much thought into driver safety. It wasn't until Jackie Stewart started pushing on the safety aspect that things started to improve.

It's good to have safety be such a large part of motorsports these days, after seeing F1 implement the halo on their cars, and all. Though somehow I feel like the "we want our drivers to be safe" attitude has consequently made it rather dull in some parts.

Stuff like silly penalties for slightly cutting grass that could "endanger" another driver, and all these inquiries are making it less exciting to enjoy. Maybe it's become too safe now, a bit unbalanced.

I started watching F1 at the age of 9...1979...I've seen many drivers die and many horrific accidents and injuries. Safe is good, although yes, I feel the same as you, it is somewhat sanitised now. Speaking of which, in 25 minutes FP1 starts in Austria...AT LAST F1 starts in 2020! I'll be glued to my TV watching it in...24 minutes from now...Lol.

Lol, I've replied late because that's what I've been doing the past day - face, in TV screen! It's good to have F1 come back, and although they're the underdogs, I can't help but to cheer on for the underdogs. Go, Alfa-Sauber! Let's hope for an exciting season ahead :-D

Was good to see Hamilton not get pole but Bottas was a bit lucky that his first run was enough considering his off on the second. Let's see how the race comes out. I'm hoping it is a good one.

Ah, here's hoping! Aside from Alfa-Sauber, I'm also looking at Redbull, since they're partnering with Aston, another favourite carmaker. They did well on the qualifying, so far.

I'm hoping McLaren go well...it will bode well for Danny RIC next year! Also Kimi. I like Albon and Norris too. Like to see them all do we'll. But a good race is what I'm after.
