Beautiful place, I've always wanted to explore PA more, but never found time. I grew up in Indiana, Amish country. I'd always heard the other more strict sect of Amish are rooted in PA, but never knew what part of the state they're in.
I'd like to do an apple butter comparison one day.
There is a heavy Amish population in Lancaster County, PA, which is about 30 minutes from New Castle County (where I live). It's a really beautiful place, too. The Amish there are, by necessity, becoming more open and somewhat less strict, at least in regards to their interactions with the outside population. They are beginning to use refrigeration and some gas powered utilities (primarily for food storage) in order to help sell.
