I shared yesterday about our journey in the online application appointment for a passport. Today, I’ll share about our activities during the scheduled appointment to apply for a passport.
The scheduled appointment was on the first Monday of September. As I shared, before we went to SM Consolacion, we traveled first to Cebu City and back again to SM Consolacion.
We arrived at SM Consolacion 30 minutes early from the scheduled time since we had no idea where the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) was located inside the mall. We wanted to familiarize ourselves with the area first.
We did not encounter any difficulty finding the office since as we entered the mall, we asked immediately the guard who was on duty. As we went to the office, we sat first on the available chairs and waited for the announcement of the staff to accept our application form.
We did not wait long since the staff was on time to accept the form. We waited for the right time that we could enter the office. The staff would assess the application form and the documents that we brought. I just went with the flow, since it was our first attempt, I had no high expectations during that day. When it was our time for the interview and checking of the credentials, I felt mixed emotions. I was shocked because my husband did not pass the checking of credentials and happy at the same time since I succeeded on my application. After the process, I went directly to my husband who waited for me outside and asked about the concern of his documents. The problem was on his birth certificate, the middle name was not readable to the staff. He needs to bring another type of document that clearly states his middle name.
We did not get pictures in the area since my husband felt a little disappointed about the process. I wanted to tease him about his preparation that he went to the barbershop for the haircut so that he would be presentable on his passport ID only to find out that he did not accomplish the first attempt. I remained silent and waited for the right time for his feelings to subside. I asked him if he felt discouraged after the disappointment, and he told me that no, and he would return and comply with the needed requirements. Hearing this, we will have another attempt to apply for a passport this month.
The transaction we did ended late afternoon. I decided before we went home, that we needed to visit first a church to give thanks for our journey though it was not perfectly ended it ended well. We decided to light a candle at the San Fernando El Rey Parish Church in Liloan, Cebu. When we entered the place, we were quite amazed since the church had improved and was different from our previous visit last year 2022.
We had our dinner at the Jollibee Liloan and then we traveled back home.

At least it only lacks the local form of his birth certificate to clarify his middle name, @fixyetbroken. In our case, I and the kids were able to finish the process, and my wife needed to submit the local marriage certificate and her local birth certificate. While others failed to process because of the spelling of their names that need to be corrected by filing a complaint.
Abroad na yan. 😅

Dili jud perfect tanan sir.🤣
The experience sometimes isn't funny
True.. Have a nice day.😊
Apart from valid IDs that you need to submit, they would still ask for supporting documents. In my case last time🫤
