What I Do To Recharge

in GEMS4 years ago

Stress is always there. With the increasing active cases in my country, our mental health has inevitably affected. I have been stuck up for more than four months already. Before the quarantine was imposed, I had been emotionally and physically exhausted during my review period. I haven't had enough time to destress. Nevertheless, I was able to do some that helped me to recharge.

Eat

If I am emotionally exhausted, I eat my comfort food. I love Korean food and Japanese food. Any matcha flavored food or drinks console me. Or, I could go with pasta and other sweet treats like cake and chocolate, preferably Blueberry Cheesecake and Matcha KitKat, respectively. Before, after overtime at work, I opted to go to an eat all you can restaurant or in a restaurant that offers unlimited rice. If I don't have money to spare, I just open Youtube and watch any mukbang or cooking vlogs.

Lay Down/Sleep

If I am physically tired of all the series of overnights, I just need a soft and comfy bed and lay down. If dead tired enough, I sleep when my eyes want to. But this rarely happens, though. Even when I had no sleep for more than 36 hours, I still feel alive and not sleepy at all. When I was still at home, I lay down and hug my dogs. Hugging and talking to them is simply the best feeling.

Read

Honestly speaking, I haven't devoured many books for this year. Before, I can finish a day or two, but this time, it takes longer. I need a reset button. But, reading has been my great therapy to escape from a messed-up day. The scent of a book alone soothes me. I enjoyed smelling them in between my reads.

Watch

When I'm at the bed, I watch TV series, Anime, or Korean Drama on Netflix instead of sleeping. I also watch Korean variety shows on Youtube for a good laugh. There are also times that I watch the music video, and cooking vlog. This helps me to divert my attention especially the dance practices or any dance-related videos.

Also, I watch these depending on my mood. If I am emotionally exhausted and I need a good cry without my roommate noticing it, I watch Korean Drama. I easily cry over things and it heightens when I'm feeling blue already. I sleep afterward.

Draw/Write

I started making a bullet journal last year. My bujo helps me to think clearly. I write the highlights, things to do, and plan for the next day. I no longer use a sketchbook. I am using my bujo when I want to draw. But when I am doing calligraphy or watercolor painting (beginner), I have a separate paper intended for these two.

During the quarantine, I had done this over and over again. But still, it was not enough. I always feel restless even when I was being a couch potato. Maybe because I miss my family, especially my dogs. I want to hug and kiss them. Or I need to reset everything. My body clock needs a realignment caused by the quarantine. I need a new environment. It would be best to travel again, eat lots of food, and then read a book while enjoying the view from time to time.

This is my day 12 of the 30-Day Blogging Challenge initiated by @tegoshei.
