I guess I don't have that old traveling bone like Creedence Clearwater Revival sang about in the song “Long As I Can See the Light, and I never was wired as a hardcore traveler like some folks are. However that being said, I have never been opposed to taking a little break now and again especially for a special situation. Our last adventure to Surfside Beach was back in 2018, so when the opportunity came up to get a family back together once again, I thought we were long overdue to make the trip.
Here is a picture of the sunset which yielded a perfect sun ball through the humid air and cloud cover. This is Gracious Pig restaurant which is directly across from our Surfside Beach Oceanfront Hotel where we stayed. Of course at Surfside Beach, golf carts are the preferred mode of transportation locally.
The Beautiful Sunday and Sublime Sunday tags are some of my faves! I want to thank @ace108 for running the beautiful Sunday tag every week and keeping such detailed stats and supporting the accounts. Also, a shout out to @c0ff33a for the sublime Sunday tag where your random Sunday posts are always welcome!
This is a shot of the ocean and beach looking to the south from the pier at Surfside Beach toward Garden City beach. The old wooden pier that was at Surfside Beach back in 2018 was replaced by a huge cement pier that looks like it could sustain even a mighty hurricane.
Now this is looking towards the north and that is Myrtle Beach in the distance. Myrtle Beach lies just about twice as far as Garden City Beach is to the south, Myrtle Beach is to the north of Surfside Beach.
Even though we arrived later in the evening than I would have liked due to too many food and potty stops, Ben still wanted to get his toes wet in the Atlantic before we went to sleep LOL.
As much as I was somewhat disappointed in it having taken us longer than I would have liked to drive to Surfside Beach South Carolina from Virginia, I realized it still wasn't as bad of a day as this poor guy's day. I'm not sure if he was someone's bait from the pier, or possibly the remains of someone's catch after being fillet, or even the victim of a shark bite.

My bet is its the remains of someone's catch. I didn't see much of fish with heads served during the 2 years i lived in USA but where i am, curry fish head is quite the thing.
Yeah because along the pier there are fillet tables with running water to cut and clean your catch. The remains just spill back into the ocean, so the rest of him was likely someone's diner
ok. kind of makes sense.
