We're doing it not because it's our choice but it's necessary thing to do otherwise you won't be able to make peace with people or anyone around you
Because they all are expecting something from you and if you won't do it, you're not going to be in peace.
No matter if you're picking a major that'll decide your career to doing a job anywhere, you don't really have free will unless you're making those decisions not based on what others are saying.
Is Free Will Just an illusion?
So after getting a job recently my life turned quite an upside down and can question my existence like do I really have free will?
I don't want to wake up at 8:50am but now because of job I've to set alarm before going to sleep just to make sure I wake up on time

I go to work and reach there at 10am on time though If I had free will I'd go at work once I wake up after completing my sleep not because of the alarm
So now at work you've to take orders, listen what they say and do everything you're supposed to do, you can't do anything else you want to pursue in life because you got no free will when you're at work
That's exactly why people say we're just corporate slaves of twenty first century.
No one like no one goes to work because it's their will, most of people at the end of work day are like; nah, I'm not doing this tomorrow but they still do cause of rents and family.
Free Will doesn't Rot in bed or being useless

It's more like following your passion, whatever you like to pursue in life with no pressure or restrictions by the society or people you know
It doesn't mean you can do any cri
me and won't have any consequences.. I mean, having control over your life instead of being controlled by someone who hired you
You're doing work but it should just be work not like answering on every call, cancelling your family plans or other things because work takes your time and boss will be upset
There's a quote from movie "fight club" that goes like "you're only free to do anything once you've lost everything" which is true like you get that free will once you have lost everything and there's other where it says "it's your life, and it's ending one minute at a time."
If we'll let the fear or someone else rules dictate our own life, we don't really have free will and we're just losing time given to us in this life by letting yourself be controlled by anything and everything, sometimes it's the lifestyle you're chasing, sometimes because rules, or work.
Wrapping Up...
I remember when I really had free will was back in the days while I was in my hometown I could do anything as per my choice
From waking up to the end of the day, hiking, setting up goals and priorities straight, focusing on my health, family and friends while doing side hustles all together
But now I'm more like that 9 to 5 person who is just going by the day doing work, sleep, wake up and repeat the same thing. I'd love to know what's your thoughts on this topic, do we really have free will? Share your opinions in the comments.

We all have choices that's a fact and with those choices comes the responsibility of exercising our free will.
indeed.
