What I see: a beautiful feminine figure surrounded by darkness lit up with all the colors of light in the galaxy. Her castle and moon are black, and the Milky Way shines wildly, mingled with the aurora borealis.
What I feel: She is what Mozart was trying to get at in the Magic Flute, and where every costume falls short ... THAT is the Queen of the Night.
I will never understand why Mozart sided with Papagena and that little boy who wanted her.
I do understand how Wagner told the truth and had Tristan curse the spirits of the day.
Forget about Isolde. It was always me, the Queen of the Night, whom every lover waits upon.
Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” is a work full of symbolism and hidden messages “I love it”, so the interpretation of why Mozart decided to side with Papagena and the boy who wanted her can vary according to the perspective of each person, there are several aspects involved, “culture, historical moment, personal experience”.
One possible interpretation is that Mozart, through these characters, is conveying the idea of purity and the innocence of love. Papagena and the child represent youth, freshness, and authenticity of feelings, in contrast to other characters in the opera who show more selfish or manipulative attitudes. I base myself on the period in which the work was developed and Mozart's own world (1781).
We can see, at the end of the opera, that Papagena and the boy are rewarded with happiness and union, which reinforces the idea that true and sincere love is capable of overcoming any obstacle. I can imagine if Shakespeare's script had been influenced by Mozart…
I agree with you ... but of course, the Queen of the Night's viewpoint would be just a bit different on that...
I can explain why Papagena and Isolda both are blond!

You reason smartly for the ways of the spirit is difficult to understand by human.
They are very hard ... as the Scripture says, spiritual things have to be spiritually discerned...
Though I have not watched Mozart perform, I believe the queen of the night has a dark soul and tries to influence those around her, to the path of evil.
That's correct ... she is selfish and vain and all that ... I captured her fairly well here...
