Prompt:It’s Not a Debate (Ceasefire is the Bare Minimum)

in Freewriters7 days ago (edited)

When I saw that the prompt was “It’s not a debate”, I immediately jumped into writting though I didn't use 5 minutes to be honest. Because I’ve been meaning to speak on this for so long and I wanted to let it all out.
I didn’t know how to start without it turning into a fight or argument and using this prompt is perfect for that.

I keep seeing posts, videos, images I wish I hadn’t seen little kids covered in dust, people screaming over bodies, entire families gone. And every time, there’s someone trying to explain it away saying it’s “complicated" or saying “But Hamas took hostages.”
IT'S NOT A DEBATE
Can't they see the cruelty. Have them no heart.

Yes, hostages are horrible. No one is denying that. But using that as a reason to keep bombing innocent people? How is that justice?
It’s starting to feel like the world is watching this horror unfold and still asking, “But is a ceasefire the right move?”
Of course it is. It’s the BARE MINIMUM.
You can’t claim to be fighting terror while becoming the reason mothers are digging through rubble for their children.
You can’t claim to be protecting people while silencing the screams of those who are dying.
This isn’t about picking sides anymore.
This is about compassion. About conscience. About being human.
A ceasefire is not a debate.
It’s not politics.
It’s the least that should be happening right now.
