There are some things in life that are like planting a tree: if you choose the right tree for the right spot, you can leave them be and enjoy the fruits of their growth after some mild one-time labor.
But most things in life are like planting a tree in the wrong climate. Because we shouldn't be in a society like the one we have. We don't get enough water here. The soil is hard. The sun is gone for 6 months at a time, and when it's out, it burns our leaves. These trees can live, but they need constant nurturing, and they'll never thrive unless conditions change drastically.
And even for the former, sometimes lightning strikes, or Emerald Ash Borers invade.
Ugh.
Ugh.
Ugh.
Habits. Building habits I want to have.
What if every morning I
stretched according to some useful all body stretching routine
ran
read a book for fun
wrote for fun
edited something I had written
memorized or rehearsed a monologue
found a group of people to give feedback/share notes with
Well, then that would be my whole day
It seems like a lot. Maybe too much.
What the heck
Life has too much stuff to try to do.
