- What did you see?
I see a big black snake coiled inside a basin
- What did you feel?
A sense of imminent danger, seeing as the snake was probably waiting to bite someone.
Story
This picture reminded me of the time when my family and I paid a visit to our own home when it was still under construction.
Back then, the place was situated in natural surroundings filled with trees and there were lots of bushes surrounding it.
Before leaving our place of residence at the time, my parents told my siblings and I that we would be going on a journey, they didn't tell us where we were going, only that it would be a surprise that we would like.
We journeyed down a very far distance and I was asking my mom some questions hoping she would give a hint as to where we were going but she knew what I was playing at and gave nothing away.
When we got to our destination, I noticed my parents directed us to what looked like an uncompleted building and we followed suit waiting to see the surprise.
My parents motioned to us to come in and as I got to the entrance, I saw something moving its head. Looking closer I saw a snake coiled around a corner.
The snake saw us and quickly uncoiled itself, I took to my heels at the sight of it, leaving everyone as I ran for my dear life.
I could hear my dad telling my mom and my siblings that they should move back as well so the snake could go on its way.
According to him, most snakes don't attack unless they feel threatened and I watched as the snake slithered away quickly.
I went back to join the others and my family laughed at me for the way I reacted. Then my dad proceeded to tell us that this would be our home when it was finally completed finally revealing the surprise.
"You mean we will live in this place where there are lots of snakes?", I asked my dad in disbelief.
"Don't worry, the snakes will be gone when the whole place is cleared of the bushes", he replied, assuring me.
We all looked around but I proceeded with caution as I didn't want more "Surprises". We stayed for a while before leaving.
On our way back, we recounted the snake incident and all laughed, even I laughed at myself for the drama. It's crazy that I love watching snake movies but dread the creature in real life.
A bad experience with snakes? Your dad is right, most snakes worldwide are not dangerous or can not even bite us because their mouth is too small.
I hope the new home kept you safe. Thanks for your entry.
It sure did. Thanks for having me.
👍
This is a drama indeed. I can relate to your fears as I don't like snakes at all. Your dad is correct, after clearing the bushes, the snakes will disperse.
