Do you also have that you want to do something and it doesn't look good? I still have the ugly sketchbook and indeed it is a mess. One would think (read my friend LOL) that I am barely skilled. At first I thought: let me do what is in that video but after two days I already started doing something else because what I see in the house I don't like drawing. Let's say it is a waste of paper or just not interesting enough. So I still "clean" the old paint boxes of the children and even do that half asleep (early in the morning or in the middle of the night). I still haven't figured out if and what I want to create and every time I think: that's it then I suddenly do something else and that reminds me of #stuckism. Just painting and drawing by feeling. It is also strange that it works better with one color than with another and there are also days when it is really ugly. The nice thing about that is that I can just say: I achieved something ugly again, I did that well.
Do you know what is also interesting? If I really sit down and think: I'm going to draw this, it doesn't work out. If I do it quickly, it looks much better, but even then I just start scribbling and as I go along I see what it becomes. It's not much different than what I do with writing. Just keep typing and at the end I'll see what's on paper.
I think it's a beautiful way of making art, just not planning anything and letting your brain do the work.
