So much more to come on Peakd.com

TIMING

Since we waited to see how this last hardfork would go down before posting this I guess this is a good place to put some of our thoughts on the last hard fork.

ADDENDUM THOUGHTS ON HF 24

There are reasons to be encouraged and disappointed. The changes of the 1st layer of the blockchain for the last 2 hardforks went relatively smoothly and it's encouraging that a couple of individuals like @blocktrades @gtg and @howo have stepped up to help on them where a much larger and more heavily payed company used to fill that roll. However we are hoping and would feel much more comfortable to see many more blockchain skilled developers step in. We would have hoped the Hive Fund would add incentive for this.

We are concerned as a company about layer two systems like HiveMind. The good news is there is still people working on this database. However, there is no denying the API experience for our users did get much worse in the last hardfork with several issues still unresolved after two weeks and many features operating at a much lower quality of performance for users. We hope to see more developers come in and be involved with HiveMind development since this is where much of the social media experience tends to live and while we look forward to the day this blockchain does much much more than social media and a few games we also hope that there are developers still around to make this a solid place for Social Media site like ourselves. We would hive.fund vote for them, promote their proposals and we would also give direct payments to these developers.

To be certain we love the Hive blockchain and all the unique features this blockchain has and the dozen+ node operators that have given Hive users access to nodes AND we have reason to be encouraged with talk of delegated resource pools and patreon like functions and changes to add language metadata to posts.
But before we jump the gun on new things our users really want communities to function again with moderation... we have been 2 weeks without one of the core foundations of the community system.

We are looking forward to great things on Hive... we just would feel more comfortable if there were less dependencies on relatively few developers.
