RE: The paddle

💙So beautiful💚 Great photos to give a real feel of just how picturesque your part of the world is. It was a glorious day indeed, or by the look of these photos.
Kayaking is a great upper body workout, but also a good static exercise for the legs, that's good for toning the muscles. Some stretches afterwards might reduce the soreness later.
I'm sure you'll find a way to fit this into your schedule.
Maybe in the future Cam and I will get some kayaks for the canals. The thing is, you need to have a licence to use a kayak on the canals, yet, you can limitlessly "drink and drive" the narrowboat no problem!😆
I do agree the pontoon is tacky. I think the designer might be my former Aussie landlord/builder; it looks like his preferred style.

Sort:

It's really great that they've opened up a few reservoirs to recreational kayaking and kayak-fishing (by permit). There's loads of other places to go of course, but it's nice that this place is so close and secluded mostly. I had a good day.

It's weird you need a kayak permit for the canals and I cant see the purpose? Is there a canal-kayak-permit-test? Please say there is not!

And yeah, that pontoon-assfuckery is senseless. Waste of money and it makes the place look commercial not natural. Progress huh? 😕

P.s. I did some stretches...Reached for snacks whilst watching Angels and Demons whilst sitting on the couch grumbling to myself about sore muscles. 🤔😉

No, no test...TF for that! You can buy the licence though. They claim you have access to over 5000 miles of waterways; canals and rivers.
It's a fun way to explore the canals if you don't have a boat I guess.
😆 Haha! Your muscles will hurt more tomorrow. At least you expect it;)

Buy the license. Ah yes, of course. Revenue.

Revenue is all its about.
Cam passed his required drone test, surprisingly there was not fee, but a huge fine of 1000 GBP if caught flying your drone without a licence.

They get at us one way or another.

True!
At least he can get some great overhead shots, and something different in general.

Yeah, I've wanted one for a while too. Priorities though.
