Yeah, I have also read some history-connected to the walls. Several months ago, I visited a village which was built long ago for the people who were working for the construction and later as the guarding force of the wall. And still, the village is just by the great wall, and the people have many stories and cultural things attached to the great wall, which is really fascinating.
