How are you? I hope everyone is doing well. The last 3 weeks i have been traveling trough Serbia.The first place I visited is Zlatibor🗺.
ABOUT ZLATIBOR
Zlatibor is a mountain that covers an area of about 1000 km2, is 30 km long and up to 15 km wide.It's located in Western Serbia, 230 km south-west of Belgrade.It's a mountain and a national park which got its name from a very rare type of white pine, the so-called golden pine(Zlatni bor or Златни бор).
The miraculous climate of Zlatibor is also favorable for the treatment of bronchial asthma and other allergic diseases of thyroid gland, heart disease and anemia so visiting this place will never be a miskate⛰️.
The highest peaks are Tornik (1496 m) and Čigota (1422 m).
What is the best way to get to know a place? Food, of course🍖!
Western Serbia represents one of the few regions of our country that has preserved typically Serbian features and characteristics in the best way, and suffered the weakest crossings and foreign influences. This can be clearly seen through the cuisine of this region, which boasts typical Serbian specialties.
Ćevapi are a dish made of minced meat, shaped into small rolls and grilled. Most often, they are made from a mixture of beef and mutton. They occur in all parts of the Balkans, especially the former Yugoslavia, which was ruled by the Turks. The types of meat differ from place to place, and often from the religion that prevails in a region. They can also be found as a type of fast food in bread with side dishes (most often onions and cheese🧅🧀).
Karađorđe's Schnitzel is one of the most famous specialties of Serbian cuisine. It's basically a breaded, fried steak, pre-filled with cream and rolled up like a pancake.You can use meat of your choice, veal or pork can be used to prepare this specialty. The schnitzel was named after Karađorđe, the leader of the First Serbian Uprising and the progenitor of the Karađorđević dynasty.We also had chicken with sesame, homemade sausages and salads🥗.
On Zlatibor itself, there are numerous cultural and historical monuments and attractions like the famous like in the center of the city.
It was a rainy day but it was a great one for spending your day with lovely friend and discovering new things, places and restaurants with unforgettable views🏞.
