Good Books and movies are ways authors and directors engaged with the audience through pictures and storytelling, with the emphasis on good books and movies they tell compelling stories that allows the viewer to connect with the performances and also have relatable experiences with the theme of the movie or book. There are lots of books and movies produced every year and they all encompasses different themes such as social economic injustice, politics, women affairs, corruption, children, rights, greed, prostitution, history, lifestyle and so many more. While most movies are adaptations of books, there are movies that are also real life experiences that are portrayed and captured through storytelling.
Recently, I watched a movie that was released days ago called "adolescence", it is a Netflix series that told the story of a 13 year old boy who killed a young girl because she cyber bullied him when he asked her out at her weakest moment. The story was shot in a toxic town where high school students have resulted to using social media, through the use of selected emojis that has deep meanings to attack young boys and girls making them feel less of themselves. Apparently, in the movie the kid actually denied not being involved in The Killing of the girl but after investigations were made, a video footage revealed him attacking the girl with knife and stabbing her in multiple places. This was so devastating because it was unbelievable that the 13 year old kid could carry out such a devious act.
The movie series is one that parents should allow their kids watch with them so as to be able to incorporate the fact that been an adolescent can be hard but with discipline and parental efforts, they can navigate through this stage of life. In the fourth episode of the movie, the mother and the father of the 30 year old kid were discussing about the probability of the child having the genetic disorder of anger issues which the father has. This could be what triggered his emotions when he was rejected by the girl. Although, there is no justifiable reason for such a child to be able to stalk someone, confront them and kill them with a weapon.
In conclusion, the movie is a must watch as it tell us the story of a boy killing a girl and at the same time allows people to reason and have an understanding as to why and how the child did it.
