Rising to the Challenge: #HPUD and Running the Hive Marathon

You’ve probably noticed some chatter around here about users who are just cashing out their Hive rewards without giving much back to the platform. Sure, there’s an argument to be made that it’s their right; they can do whatever they want with their tokens, whether it’s selling them or swapping for another coin. And honestly, there’s not much anyone can do about that, since Hive is a decentralized platform. It’s built on the principle that everyone’s free to do as they please with their rewards from content creation.

Of course, there are some things the community won’t tolerate, like spamming, plagiarism, or breaking specific community guidelines. But when it comes to what users do with their rewards... whether they power up or cash out; it’s totally up to them.

That said, I get why some users aren’t thrilled about others cashing out their rewards as soon as they get them. These folks are all about growing the community, the platform, and the value of our $HIVE token. And I’m with them on that, especially during this bear market. The last thing we should be doing is selling off our tokens, which only drives the price down further.

But instead of just talking about these issues, there are actually things we can do to help out. One of the best ways to protect the value of $HIVE is by powering up our tokens. So today, I’m joining the #HPUD (Hive Power Up Day) event!

It’s a monthly event where you power up at least 10 Hive tokens to earn the Hivebuzz Badge. The more people who join in, the bigger the impact on the token’s value. And hey, powering up more than the minimum is always encouraged!

I know some users will power up even more, and that’s awesome! It’s all about showing our commitment to the blockchain and the $HIVE token, which benefits the whole community in the long run.

Now, it might sound like I’m about to go for a run, but this marathon is all about buying Hive tokens from exchanges and powering them up every day for the next 90 days. It’s the first event of its kind on the platform, started to address the dropping value of our token, which many believe is due to people selling off their Hive regardless of the market conditions.

At first glance, it might seem easy; just buy 20 tokens a day for 90 days, right?

But it’s actually a tough challenge that requires daily dedication. The cool part is there’s a reward at the end of this marathon. The prize pool is collected daily through upvotes on posts by the @hive.marathon account, along with contributions from other generous users. It’s pretty exciting and definitely motivates me to stick with it.

Since I’m focused on building up my Hive Power, it only makes sense to participate in both the Hive Power Up Day and the Hive Marathon. My goal is to hit 10,000 Hive Power by the end of the year, and with this accelerated pace, I’m confident I’ll reach my goal sooner than expected.
