Spot on; A social service that is not social, is doomed.

Auto vote can be used for sure, but auto voters shall act dynamic. At HIVE many of the high value auto voters are supporting the same users for months to maybe even years. Some of them support curators groups, which is good, since these curator groups go around in a manual fashion.

I've seen too many users leave HIVE not because of almost no to no rewards, but no engagement. That said, I also see a lot of users dropping posts only, not comment to any other posts, sometimes not even to comments on their own posts... Users going for the money, full stop. A (major) problem at the general purpose HIVE social network.
