It's been one hell of a week for us. Deaths here and there reminded us yet again how fleeting and short life is. Seeing someone smiling and kicking today doesn't guarantee that he will be here tomorrow. Well, at least that's what we realize after a few of those whom we know went beyond the rainbow without any signs of illness or so.
Anyway, we just got back home an hour ago from attending an aunt's funeral. We drove to their place at 5:30 in the morning. Yep, so early but it was the husband's idea just so we could secure a parking spot. He was right though, at least we didn't have to walk many a mile to the venue.
Meanwhile, I had kind of forgotten what day it was until I checked the date on my phone around 9 this morning. Was shocked to realize that I had forgotten to send my payment to the SPI subscription and did it in that instant. I hope it's still okay, even if it was hours late. I have set the recurring payment so there won't be any delay in the next ones since I always make sure to have liquid HIVE in my wallet.😊
And because it's Saturday, it's time to check how the numbers have played in the last seven days concerning my goals (stakes on-chain). And without stretching far and wide, here they are:
Hive Power (HP)
- Current: 18,108 HP
- Previous: 18,000 HP
- Increase: 108
Much less Hive Power was added compared to previous weeks. That's mainly because the price of HIVE increased (above 40 cents) which means the amount of HP for content and curation rewards decreased. Still good but it fell short of the weekly average HP of at least 115 to keep me on track with my target. Will continue to add as usual and see what adjustments are needed to be made along the way.
Leo Power (LP)
- Current: 28,824 LP
- Previous: 28,400 LP
- Increase: 424 LEO
LPUD contributed to the bulk of the LEO added for the week plus my daily manual staking and then the Leo Power from leo.bounties for my HP delegation to leo.voter, the APR of which has been decreased from 22% for tier 3 to now 16%.
I can say that I'm still on track with this one. Hope to not get sidetracked with the WLEO-CACAO pool launching on Maya Protocol soon, lol!
Hive Backed Dollar (HBD) Savings
- Current: 753 HBD
- Previous: 710 HBD
- Increase: 43
A nice growth in the week, if I may say so. That's also because I claimed the monthly interest 4 days ago. That's 11 HBD already. It's quite nice to be earning some amounts passively which makes me want to add even more to it. Although I'm getting tempted to take out the savings to buy something. Just have to remind myself not to.😅
Summing Up
Overall, the progress for the week was good although can be improved. Sights ahead and will keep moving forward. Hope to do better in the next seven days, although the market still dictates most of the results. I do like the dips once in a while so I could acquire some liquid HIVE off the chain.

Are you sure? I used to think If the Hive price increase, the curation reward remain the same but only increase in dollar value.

Yep. A $10 post has fewer amounts of HP (in rewards) when the HIVE price is 1 dollar compared to when HIVE is 50 cents. We earn a lesser amount of HP when the price of HIVE is higher.
