Some of you might have noticed some minor drama on Twitter yesterday between Theycallmedan and a bitcoin guy called Lopp.
I dont know much of anything about Lopp outside whats in his bio on Twitter so I wont be using heavy insults like "bitcoin maxi" or anything like that to describe him.
What happened yesterday really showcases why crypto is filled with parasites like Bitboy, Layah, Mario etc.
Because apparently they are clearly valuable. If you dont have these guys talking about you, you arent relevant and masses wont hear about you.
Even when guys like Lopp become aware of HBD or Hive they refuse to take it seriously because they werent shilled it by specific accounts and whatever echo-chamber theyre part of.
Imagine the irony of a space thats supposed to promote individuality, self custody, DYOR that guys like this that have been around for 10+ years will dismiss and reject something simply based on:

Now you know! Once I didnt know that some of the honey found in Egyptian pyramids was still edible after thousands of years. When someone told me that fact I didn't respond:

I dont think its misplaced to assume that the same attitude he has towards HBD is shared by all other large crypto accounts. Thats why influencers are paid off to shill it or large companies pay millions to promote their stablecoins.
The industry is as it is because that is the only way to get attention of big accounts like Lopps.
How many Lopps are there? A lot of them. At least 48.

It seems a lot of crypto folk are just into short term personal gain. I want to see Hive help millions of others.

Gluttons like him are the reason why a lot of scams thrive in the crypto world all in the name of fantastic projects because a paid influencer has given it accolades. It's good he knows about the HBD now; at least so he claims.

I dont think anyone had an expectation that they would convince him of anything. If actually talking to people worked influencers would be driving Geo Metros instead of Lambos.
This is just something to have fun with.
Such 45k follower type influencers usually get end up being featured on Coffeezilla for their scams, support to scams or preaching scams to followers. Any guy who appeals to popularity as an excuse to diss the good projects neither deserves credibility nor his opinion has any weight.
We can still have some fun with it. lol
It's unbelievable. I remember when people used to argue about use cases and stuff to make their point about what will work and what will not in a project, and for the most part it was a pretty reasonable way of thinking. Nowadays, they use the same arguments to dismiss things that don't fit in their cozy way of thinking.
I wasn't aware of these people until I worked for a project that needed to list their coin on exchanges. They wanted to list them for outrageous quantities of BTC and they won't receive the project's coin as payment. It chilled my blood.
In that sense, I began to see patterns of shillers and parasites playing as crypto gurus doing their job on social media and trying to take advantage of legitimate and small projects. "Hey, if they aren't listed in major exchanges, they don't exist, right? They don't have enough volumen!". On the other hand, Tron do exist, even though their volumen and all is a fake, puppetered by a conman. What a ton of bullshit! This kind of gaslighting revolts me, they think us stupid! You gotta love the never ending drama lol but yes a vast majority of "news" and "crypto" people on twitter are sponsored and heavily invested in something to the point were they are very resistant to anything that counters it.
Often meaningful and touching when some vital stuff is being expose to you , most especially such that has been over years and none pointed you towards such angle.
