Did you hear about TikTok pulling the plug on its "Task and reward" feature? It used to let users earn points for doing things in the app, which they could swap for Amazon vouchers. Sounds fun, right? But it turns out it was raising some red flags about making young people even more hooked on the app. TikTok has promised not to sneak it back in under another name, and if they break that promise, they could be in big trouble. The European Commission will be keeping a close eye to make sure they stick to their word. Meanwhile, there's another investigation underway looking into how TikTok's main algorithm might be affecting users.
I saw a headline but didnt dive into it much since I dont know much (or care about) TikTok.
One thing is the USG is looking to target TikTok so nothing surprises me. They will be attacked from all angles.
