The difference between having a weapon and using it when necessary is vast. When the right timing is not available, the weapon, no matter how powerful, is rendered practically useless. This is very similar to your "knowledge is power" explanation.

Speaking of working under pressure, it is a skill that can be learned and is extremely valuable, if not necessary. I believe it is because I know I prefer to make the best decisions whenever possible, especially when under duress.
