Haha to many introverts here lol. Me included, I mean I am good with ppl but maybe due to the jobs couldn't stand them in private. Maybe it is also because the ones that are nearby in real life aren't on the same page as yourself. In my area the people aren't that open, they are full of prejudice and mostly not willing to look over the edge of the plate. But it happens all over.
That is what I like about the internet, which I really just discovered lately. You can find ppl all over the world and connect to them. And with some you feel really close, even though you're thousand miles apart.

If it would fail permanently, like @galenkp threw in, I think the world would be in turmoil. We are just too dependent on it, economy, transfer of goods etc.

Locally you would see ugly things after a while.
