Greetings @galenkp, with discipline and perseverance, goals are achieved. Taking shortcuts or the "easy" route can cause us to lose our bearings. In my country, there's a phrase often used by grandparents when their children take on jobs and responsibilities: "Easy come, easy go."

Yeah, exactly. I modified it to make it more capable off road and made a few posts about it. It was a pretty cool truck.

I know from past posts you have a very redundant comms package. I’d be interested in what you have running off thevehicle. Looks like you got some UHF at least.
I run UHF and sat phone for all my comms with possibly a Zoleo coming in the near future to augment the package. I used to run a Codan HF radio on an older vehicle but I sold it with the vehicle as I went sat phone instead.
There is always room for HF in the comms. Then again I’m old radio operator and humped HF around a lot. Love long haul comms with its magic.
HF (heavy fucker). Lol.
It's not used as much here as it was with the lower cost of satellite phones but some still use vehicle mounted ones and swear but. In truth, not as many people are getting themselves into situations where HF is ever going to be required so just don't spend the money.
Here's some sarcasm for you...When AI fully takes over and people go "virtual four wheel driving and travelling" instead of in reality no one will need comms at all! How good is AI huh? 🥴
Skynet needs no comms to off road when hunting is useless humans down.
