LOL, some of mine are also research, full of notes that I happen to need for reference. I'll call those "reference books". Inactive are the ones either filled, or mostly filled. I'm compiling in my mind how many and what time of these things I have. What a direction to go in 🤣. A book 3/4 full of recipes I've made. Fermentation. Medicine. Those are added to, so are "active" but not really note-scratching or research books. 😂

I'm about the same. Inactive are mostly reference works or projects I put so freaking much time into that I just can't throw away the evidence. I have three book projects that I listlessly pick up every now and again :)
