The Theatre: The Ink Well Prompt #63

in The Ink Well3 years ago
A tall man with long hair, an imperial moustache, blue eyes, a delicate face with soft, fresh, thin lips, straight, greasy hair, and handsome, walked down the stairs and entered the theatre. When Theo was about seven years old, he began his life's journey as a theatre actor because his mother worked as a theatre cleaner in one of the busiest theatres in France. He had the talent to grasp all the details around him and portrayed them differently with an artistic flair that captivated the theatre audiences with his magical plays on the theatre stage.

When he stepped into his best place on the earth, thrown into the past and remembered all the time he had spent and enjoyed his life as an actor. The black carpet, the red velvet curtains, the big round lights, and the green seats whispered and portrayed all the plays he had played in his ear and heart. He looked around the theatre, no one was there and an astonishing silence descended on him. He felt the need to return to that time and relive the magic of his life again. He was so ill and his hands were as heavy as a big stone and also couldn't stand on his feet. The doctors had diagnosed him with cancer about three months ago and he had one year to live.

All of a sudden, while he was rolling around, a door near the left curtains caught his attention. He could not remember that there was a door near the curtains. It was a hidden door. He slowly walked to the door and opened it. He felt an inexplicable sense of challenge. In his whole life, he had never experienced this feeling.
He saw a cottage, opened the door, and entered. An old man was sitting by the fireplace drinking a cup of coffee.
He experienced an unconscious, mysterious connection between his body and that unknown place, and he felt a combination of satisfaction, pain relief, and freshness in his body with a gentle breeze. He didn't realize it is a healing frequency.

"Please come in". Said the old man.

Theo entered the cottage and sat down next to the old man.

"My name is Theo and I was at the theatre when I saw a hidden door on one side of the theatre.

"I know everything". The old man replied.

"How do you know?" asked Theo.

"I know because I am your wise old sage". The old man said.

"Really? And how?" Theo said.

"Because you wished to play the role of a bird with all of your heart and believed that it is your final play, you can see me as a flesh and bone and as a human being." the old man said.

Theo didn’t expect this situation and had never had a supernatural experience before. He was confused and fearful. It was the frequency of his wish that caused his wise old sage to appear.

"Don’t you want to begin the magical journey of your life?

Theo said, "Yes, I do want.

"Then take my hand". Said the old man.

He did not understand what was happening to him. In the blink of an eye, he saw himself suspended between earth and sky. Many birds were flying in the sky, singing a song like they were in a musical choir. He looked at his body, he had wings, a beak, a crest, and claws. Then he stared at the earth under his claws, all of the mountains, seas, plains, and forests were under his feet. His wings buzzed above the blue sky, darting through the air at a frantic pace furiously. He was floating on the air and surrounded by many birds.

What was that? Was that the sound of heaven calling him? Was that the frequency of healing? He asked himself. But it was all the frequency of his life, his inner magic to heal himself with the thing he loves in life, playing the role of a bird in the theatre. It was the magic of his life’s frequency since he was healed completely after about two months of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

This is an interesting interpretation of the prompt. The man was able to heal himself (with magical intervention) by using his own internal resources. The symbol of the bird is nice. You maintain voice and avoid author intrusion.
