Zimsko jutro. ❄️Winter morning. ❄️

Јутро је. Оштар мраз спалио зелено лисје,
А танак и бео снег покрио поља и равнice.
И сниски, тршчани кров, У даљини губе се бреze.

It's morning. A sharp frost burned the green leaves,
And thin and white snow covered the fields and plains.
And the low, reed roof, In the distance the birches are lost.

У селу влада мир. Још нико устао није,
А будан петао већ, живосно лупнувши крилом,
Поздравља зимски дан и звучним ремети гласом
Тај мир у часу милом.

There is peace in the village. Nobody got up yet,
And the awake rooster already flapping his wing lively,
He greets the winter day with a sonorous disturbing voice
That peace in the hour is lovely.

Ил' кадкад само тек звиждање јасно се чује
И тежак, промуко глас. То ловац пролази селом,
И брже мамећи псе, погурен у поље жури,
Покривен копреном белом.

Or sometimes only whistling is clearly heard
And a heavy, hoarse voice. That hunter passes through the village,
And faster, luring the dogs, pushed into the field in a hurry,
Covered in white linen.

Свуда је пустош и мир. Ноћна се кандила гасе
А свежи, јутарњи дах, прелеће долине мирне. . .

There is desolation and peace everywhere. The night lamp goes out
And the fresh, morning breath flies across the peaceful valley. . .

И шум се разлеже благ, кад својим студеним крилом
У голе гранчице дирне...

And the noise spreads gently, when with its cold wing
He touches the bare branches...
