RE: Working at a call center - crazy customer stories

in OCD4 years ago

LOL this hits very close to home for me! My first job out of uni was an internship at an e-commerce site here in South Africa and I had to deal with all types too very similar to what you say! Most are understanding and some are royal assholes but every so often theirs one that really touches you

I remember a lady hitting us up on Facebook and she couldn’t get her delivery as she’s in a rural area and had a sick child so what I did was called the delivery people and have them ship it to a neighbour who signed for the package and this lady was so super greatful she asked for my bosses email and sent this super long email on how amazing I was and how I should get a raise, lol I didn’t but okay glad I could help

HAHA that's so nice!! And relatable as well. There's always that one super nice customer hahaha and I wish more people are like them T_T Sometimes I leave a very nice review as well when I get a very nice service :D It's just so nice to read people's great review for you

Yeah but I guess if it happened often we wouldn't remember them and cherish those moments, but ultimately people like being dicks I guess, especially when they spent money. I do try to do reviews both good and bad but I don't take things personal giving or receiving reviews. I have to give props to customer service reps they really have their mental health tested regularly

EXACTLY! And yeah.. I have seen some of my co-workers cry because customers yelled at them and they have problems with personal life as well. It's not easy dealing with people's issues everyday. They got my respect
