RE: Hello Everyone! Introduction to myself and my Stop Motion projects

in OCD3 years ago

I want to make my own stuff but am short on ideas. I think I am going to make a bunch of trending stuff because it gets more traction. Then when I have more subscribers I will try being more inventive.

Sort:

That is one way to do it for sure!

My sibling did that, started off their "career" (posting online, nothing quite as fancy or exciting as working in industry XD) in a popular fandom that they enjoyed and gained a lot of traction pretty quick (something like days or weeks, which I knew would happen even after they dragged me on board just so they could have one follower because they wrongly thought no one else would like their stuff). A year or so later they got some new ideas and started branching out into original stuff (and the endless AUs x_x), the friends made in the fandom generally stayed, people that were just there for the fandom look like they've dropped off, and people gained from traction come and go and they're doing alright now, probably could be better if they could be bothered with such nonsense as reach.

and in fairness to my sibling I think that just kind of happened, you at least have a plan XD

And then there's me who vaguely started off in a very niche fandom with a couple of handfuls of people I knew from a forum, and then quickly spiralled out into my own thing, and just kind of sat doing my thing for about a decade (not an exaggeration) making a new friend here and there, and then I ended up here and after a couple of years there was a slow explosion.

in fairness to me I both work very slowly and don't have a lot of time to work in ^_^;

Guess it depends on how fast you want to go.

Looking forward to your inventive stuff :D
