@dannewton just finished a 11.07km run, that lasted for 70 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 910.0 calories.
Description from Strava: Its been a busy week so far. Busy at work and busy at home getting the house ship-shape now my partner has gone back to work. I've also finally managed to get back to my studies for my accountancy qualification, so that is eating up time as well.
But no worries, I'm still finding time to get some runs in, although I've not found time to talk about them until now lol
First up to start the week was an easy effort on Monday. I was in the office all day (which is unusual for a Monday!) I blame the fact that I was off last week, so I wasn't able to choose my days at home this week, an d ended up having to go in on Monday.
Nevermind... adapt and overcome or something I guess!
So because I was in the office, I couldn't get home until 6pm. And as I was due to do some studying as well as finding something for dinner, I only had time to squeeze a short 40 minute run:
Short and sweet on Monday
Tuesday was a better day, as I was at home. I managed to finish reasonably sharp at 4:15 pm. With more time I could manage a longer run, so I headed back out along the bypass to do 10km.
The image below might well look the same as the image above, but I promise you I ran further on the 2nd one! There was a bit off doubling back involved... I started running to the roundabout for 3 km, doubled back for 2km, THEN I headed back towards the roundabout for 2km and finally ran the 3km back home
Longer on Tuesday
Tuesdays run was still an slow and easy effort, and it actually felt easy for once, which is good news compared to the last 4 weeks of struggling with pace/effort/consistency/injury.
Wednesday I was back in the office, and as I was going to be arrive home late, I decided to take the evening off from any exercising and have some rest. I did walk from work down to the bus station, so managed to get some steps in and keep everything moving
Wednesday evening was also spent catching up with my partner, as she is now staying in Carlisle for the next 8 weeks as part of her uni studies.
For today (i.e. Thursday) I was once again back to working at home. Its been a rather boring day sifting through invoices and registering them on the ledger, and to be quite frank, 'clocking off' could come soon enough! I eventually logged out at 4:30, and quickly got my kit together to head out while it was still daylight
I was thinking off a different route (heading down on to Brant Road to loop around Waddington, but in the end I couldn't be bothered to faff around. Instead, I elected to do a an out and back on the bypass for 6km, followed by a loop around the village for a further 5km, making 11km overall.
Gotta say, I'm really pleased to report that my hip niggle is finally on the mend, I could barely feel it tonight, untill the last 2km. And hopefully in the next few weeks I can run further and further again.
The progress has been helped by the physio, and also by the exercises she sent me a couple of weeks back
The video shows 3 exercises, and I've been doing mostly the 1st and 2nd ones
I spent 10 minutes this evening doing various sets and reps of theses, plus some focused stretching at the end.
Tomorrow is Friday, and I'll be taking another rest day, in preparation for Parkrun on Saturday. Its the last one of January, so I really NEED to go to this one in order to tick off my target of doing at least 1 parkrun in each calendar month.
I've made so many excuses for the past 3 weeks, although the one getting cancelled technically was out of my control!
NO MORE EXCUSES!!
Once I've done the parkrun, I'll then be heading round to dog-sit for my Dad, as he is off to watch the football with my brother. I'm not bothered about the football, but I'm happy enough to look after his dog Lola for the day. I'll be taking my laptop with me, so I can do some studying on Saturday afternoon
So I guess my busy week will continue into a busy weekend! On Sunday there will be time to do a few chores, and maybe a little run, and before I know it Monday will be here, and we'll start all over again!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Well done. Getting through the dark winter months can be hard. I try to run in daylight and that involves a lunch run from the office. I'm also working through some injuries, but it's not too bad. I hope to do parkrun this week as it's been a long while. They keep needing marshals.

Yep it is... I've already started to notice the evenings getting a little lighter (or should I say not getting dark quite so early)
I hope you get to run parkrun this time, it does always seem to be the same people volunteering... saying that, I'm one to talk, I've never volunteered there but then I've only run 15 times. I plan to do some volunteering this year though, to 'do my bit' for the community :-)
!BEER
I'm almost at 50 volunteer sessions. I enjoy it as they are a nice crowd of people and some of them never actually run.

I find that to be successful in anything, consistency is such an important factor. Showing up day after day and getting it done!
I like this morning and evening view the most when the sun rises in the morning and when the sun sets in the evening.
