Life has never been easy and I just realized that My parents were rich, what will I do?
Papa (Dad) , Mama (mum) what do you mean? Could this be a dream?
Ofcourse that would be my first question.
Since I grew up to the age where i can say i understand life, we have been suffering, it has been from hand to mouth.
In the year 1999 my dad resigned from the Steward job he was doing in lagos and took us back to the east, life was sooo hectic in the village.
My mother will gather people's farm and we will go and weed it for them, she will buy people's cassava we will process it for them then they will give us garri and some money.
During school days i will always go to the farm before going to school, i was always chased back home because of school fees and it might be like after two weeks after that i will go back to school after a lot of labour to get my fees.
My younger brother is a drop out from secondary school because there was no money to complete his school fees.
During my nursing school years it got so bad that i borrowed uniform from people and i will always be the last to pay my school fees.
Till this moment life has not been easy for us, but we are grateful.
i realize that my parents are rich.
Hmmmmmmmm this is a difficult situation to handle because we have been through a lot all this years,
But i would give them benefit of doubt and hear them out because i would love to know why they allowed us to suffer so much and they had financial means to change our life.
The willingness in me to have an honest conversation with them will help me to know how to react on hearing such thing.
First of all I'll have to be calm because calmness will have me to understand whatever they are going to explain and get the point, remembering that they are still my parents i will maintain respect for my parents and their choices, there must be a reason so i will hear them out.
I will have to work so hard in other to control my emotions because it might result to depression and anger especially when i remember all that i have been through in life.
I will ask them series of questions to get myself comfortable around them once again, then i will listen to them to get what the whole picture is all about.
If their reasons are understandable i will work on building trust and confidence in them once again.
Should i relent from hustle.
In as much as i will work so hard to build trust but i will definitely continue to seek for my own financial sustainance, i will not look at their riches that i just saw overnight because I would conclude that they never wanted me to enjoy their wealth.
If at all i want to have anything to do with them there much transparency that everyone can see, no more heading things.
This type of betrayal can be disheartening but they are still my parents so i will forgive and move on with my life.

so true parents are parents and it is always good to have a good clear conversation about things
I'm just imagining the multiple emotional displays that will erupt within me if I find out my parents were rich rich. lol. At the end of the day, all the ''whys'' would be asked and although I wouldn't stop doing what I do, I's sure expect some investments for me to lesson the hustle.
I feel like the betrayal comes in when you remember what they made you do
The things you had to go through to be able to pay your fees
Maybe that’s what will make you sad because it can’t be undone
And probably a reason why you would want them to be transparent henceforth
My dear, this mentality is top notch, and not everybody have it. Maybe the reason for them taking that action would be to train up a very strong and independent lady that could handle their wealth. You have shared a masterpiece here friend, keep up with the good work.
