Society ultimately suffers because there are far too few individuals engaging in critical thinking.
As a university professor, I am saddened by how many students I encounter who have zero interest in learning to think critically.
Much of what you described parallels the life of Socrates and the Socratic method. Socrates was intent on seeking truth by challenging others and being challenged himself on core assumptions and beliefs. He welcomed such challenges and so should we all.
I recently listened to an audiobook about The Socratic Method. The author starts the book with an interesting question:

It's been a minute since we got this version of Dan (missed it). You message resonates with me. I have been on this path for the most part of my adult life, going against the system (before it became trendy). You speak very on the videos and I like the thoughts you expressed. Truly said, people can have different perspectives.
So much truth in 29mins, I never knew you were such a deep thinker, I love the fact that you were not born with a silver spoon, and you have seen a freaking load of shits, that made you stronger, Your deep analysis of life, how you never want your children to become a grown ass adults that never realised how messed up the world is, to stand for a change or Be the Change.
We are truly in a fucked Up world, where every body is Capable of shit and they all stick to their messy ways.
Taking the Health sector example every one is only about their pockets, Nobody cares for Humanity, the truth is those virus and bacterias are not the sickness, we humans are the true sickness.
There is need for Changers, Fighters that can think above the norms. I am glad you are one of them Dan.
Life seems to be unfair as we experience it and that is why we are always on the mission to be better with ourselves. Though it is always a mission surrounded with challenges to be better and that is what keeps us going to achieve results. Some great philosophy in this "rant". The lack of critical thinking we see definitely goes hand-in-hand with herd mentality...which of course is the result of a concerted effort. Like you said, thats where the fight is.
