I was trying to remember what do they look like in winter and I cant :o
Google says they are evergreen and it is quite possible they do stay green under the snow. But since the grow together with that other bush that is definitely evergreen, I could have not noticed them dying back and regrowing in spring.
They grow in the same place for many years already and they don't require any replanting or sowing. They just do their own thing.
