Let me tell you about a little adventure I had recently, a kind of experience that really reminds you how beautiful the world can be.
So, there I was, last Saturday, deciding to check out a fun run event down at Marina Bay. I heard there might be some cool things to see, but when I got there, the event wasn’t quite open yet. No big deal, though.
I figured I'd head over to the ArtScience Museum to see if any exhibits were happening. But, honestly, I wasn't in the mood to pay for an entrance fee. So, instead, I wandered over to the lotus pond, which is right under the museum.
By the way, I also made a video of this little adventure. Feel free to check it out!
And wow, I felt lucky! It was peak lotus blooming season! The sight of hundreds of lotus flowers all blooming together was absolutely stunning. It’s one thing to see a single lotus flower, but when they’re all together like that, it’s just magical.
Even though I didn’t catch them blooming in real-time, just seeing all those perfectly shaped flowers was an experience in itself. It’s not something you come across every day.
The place was buzzing with people snapping photos, trying to capture the beauty of the flowers with their cameras. What’s cool is that it’s totally free and open to the public, which explains why so many people flock there. Most of the flowers were this gorgeous violet or purple, but there were a few in other colors, like yellow, adding a nice contrast.
Near the entrance of the museum, there’s this smaller pond with a mirror-like disk in the center.
At first, I was curious about it, so I walked closer and realized it’s a special kind of mirror. It’s designed to reflect the ArtScience Museum building itself, no matter where you stand.
It’s like some kind of optical magic, and it adds another layer of fascination to the whole experience.
As I wandered around, I found the perfect spot to snap a photo of the ArtScience Museum. The building is shaped like a giant lotus flower, elevated as if it’s floating, supported by these stilts.
It’s amazing how the design mimics the natural beauty of a lotus; strong, elegant, and perfectly balanced.
This is what I love about my city. Even though I’ve been to this spot plenty of times, it always feels fresh and exciting. There’s always something new to see, and it just keeps getting better every time I visit. I’m already thinking about coming back at night to check out the lighting effects on the building. That should be pretty spectacular.
I hope you enjoyed this little slice of my weekend adventure! If you ever find yourself in Singapore, I totally recommend checking out this spot. It’s even more breathtaking in person than in photos.
Have an awesome day ahead!

Good day @bluejay ☀️
Thanks for the nice feedback. I like how you describe the connection between nature and architecture… “marriage” and I totally agree with it. I didn’t initially thought about it but now that you highlighted it then it became clearer to me.
You have a very good perception of things that you see. Poetic and artistic as well 🙏
The lotus one is extrodenary and that museum, wow. 🤩

I’m amazed as well and can’t figure put how they come up with designs like this.
Nice work there. Haven't been to MBS outside alley for a long while. Have always been in their indoors for event. Maybe time to talk a walk and enjoy a weekend morning
