RE: New Drone Community

Get one with the "Smart Controller" or "RCPro" remote instead of just using the stock cellphone controller. It has a feel to it very similar to a decent DSLR body :) and similar multiple control buttons. The models designed for photo's also allow for quite a bit of manual exposure settings should you want to experiment. The new perspectives and positions you can place the drone into are fantastic, and very hard to replicate with a normal camera. For example this one I was hovering in the middle of the river and about 15 feet over the water. Very hard to do, even if you were to take a boat, it would be bouncing and thrashing in that rough water. It's not always about going 400 feet up in the air. I would love to see some drone work from you given all your other wonderful shots. pxl_20220226_165154177.jpg

Thanks a lot for the advices. Knowing myself, I'll probably spend a week to research and an hour to actually buy one :D Finding the best balance of price and features will be quite hard, in this currently fucked up world, but the full manual control for the photos is a must for me. I don't know how the drones cope with RAW format, I'll look up into this as well.

Look at the DJI Mavic2 Pro and the DJI Mavic3 or Autel Evo II for camera comparisons. They seem to be the few that will satisfy the quality and control needs. These higher end can shoot in Raw + jpg, but sometimes have to give up RAW for some of the "smart" features. The Mavic 3 can even go 8K video if you really want to play in that space.

Great, I'll do, thanks so much for saving me some time :)
Yeah, it's always like that - it's either the cool effects or the quality.
