The Next Step to Healthier Life

Last year, I wrote more about my steps to improve health. I haven't had my annual checkups yet, but that will come eventually. I have kept the "reduced sodium" diet. I have noticed the downtrend in blood pressure with better sleep and whatnot. Maybe I could get off of Olmesarten the next time I see my physician?

So, what else am I working on this year? I wouldn't touch the Sworkit app under normal circumstances. My work offers free premium versions of the app and incentives to keep up with our goals. They can amount to several hundred dollars a year. Unfortunately, we can't have the incentives in cash but in gift cards. So, I tend to choose Amazon (while supporting the evil Bezos) gift cards, which are great during holidays.

I mostly use the app for full-body stretch exercises. I stopped doing stretches at the gym because I didn't want to bring my mat or use the ones at the facilities anymore. People gross me out, even when they work in healthcare. Their habits aren't exactly the cleanest despite the free disinfectant offered at the gym.

One of the other adjustments is hydration. I've started drinking more water, especially at work. I give myself a water break every 3 hours during my 10-hour shifts. I could be better about it at home, but I have noticed the difference in energy level and alertness when I am hydrated.

Another change is making a point to get over 7000 steps a day. It's the first time I used the default health app on the iPhone. The incentive program only expects 20 days out of one month, but it would be nice to keep it up daily, if possible. When the weather warms up, I will start running with some of my colleagues again. Getting 7000 steps a day won't be too difficult by then.

I am looking forward to seeing how my vitals will be in the upcoming months. It may be a placebo effect, but I feel much better than a couple of years ago.

I put my air-fryer in the farthest corner of the kitchen to get more steps when I cook with it.

That’s one way.

You are awesome for making it consistent. Keep going!

Thanks!

The annual health check up is necessary. Keep good your fitness level.

Staying healthy is key because health is wealth

Thus, when it becomes a routine to walk daily, it is a very good habit and has a significant impact on our health.

I’ll find out eventually.

Drinking more water is good. There are times when I don’t feel thirsty but I always make sure that I drink water if I realize that it has been long I drank water

I’m good at forgetting to drink water. Purchase mineral water to help trick myself into drinking it.

It’s easy to forget.

I really think I need to start working on my health also starting from today. My daily worl habit

It’d be a good thing.
