Can You Hear It?.......My Actifit Report Card: January 22 2023

Can you hear it?

Welcome to todays post!

What time is it? I really wasn’t prepared to get up early although my alarm said otherwise. 😏 So we got up and made it to church just past 7:30. Needless to say we were the first ones there! We had some mics to set up for Facebook live and a few other things to do before the other worship team arrived for practice. Everything was going well.

Service time came and Ryan launched Facebook live with the new camera. I took my iPad and phone which I tuned to the live stream while working the iPad sound system for that stream. @silvertop was in the sanctuary dealing with house sound. If you’ve never done what I was doing before, suffice it to say it’s a form of madness. Everything I was hearing through my earbuds was a 30-45 second delay. My earbuds were not noise canceling, so it was like listening to things almost twice or a big echo. 😳 While the pastor was giving the sermon, I did wander back into the sanctuary, but found I had to ignore the live sound and focus solely on the delayed broadcast. Once the sermon was done and the worship team began again, I eventually found myself outside on a deck and could better listen to what was happening with the Facebook sound. The audio was much, much better than last week’s when we lead as it was on ‘auto pilot’ as it was not monitored by anyone. I think I can improve it, and now have some noise canceling Bluetooth headphones that hook up to my phone. It should go much better next week.

Needless to say, that kind of multi tasking along with sorting out ambient sound versus streaming sound left me pretty exhausted. We opted at mid afternoon to head out for a hike to clear our heads a bit. Jan came with.

Here’s more mossy eye candy and some ‘shrooms for you!

Tomorrow is truly a Monday for me at work. I work a half a day ( fingers crossed 🤞) and then go home. Then I’ll be roasting coffee for a customer and try to squeeze in a hike. I’m tired just thinking about it, lol 🤣

Take care and have a good day! Please continue to pray for 🇺🇦

👣🐑☕️🤣😏😳😜🤞🥱😴

No kidding! I likened it to having 2-3 children tugging on my pants leg all noisily vying for my attention! It was a bit maddening for sure. This coming Sunday will be better-I have a secret weapon!😘🤗💖🌸

Mosses and mushrooms. Are you still getting plenty of rain?

Right now, it's more of a mist that doesn't let up. They don't quite make a speed on the windshield wiper delay slow enough to deal with it, lol! Lots of very low clouds that you find passing through the forest as well. All brings moisture. As long as the temps stay in the mid 30's to 50-ish, then we will probably see more 'shrooms. If we get a lot of cold, it will kill them for now.

I see. It must be difficult to drive with the mist. I experienced traveling in the mountains with almost zero visibility, I was afraid. The driver lives there, and that's what I'm relying on. Of course, I'm praying.

Prayer is good! Tonight, it was especially bad coming home. The headlights from the oncoming traffic were refracted and scattered by the mist on the windshield. The wipers didn't help much as it's such a fine mist, it takes a bit for enough to really build up for smooth operation of the wipers. Then add the fact they just don't make a delay on the wipers slow enough to deal with this........it was blinding. It scared me on one 90 degree turn!

Do the mist stay long. At the mountains here, we will stop when there's zero visibility.

Yeah, prayers can really help.

It really depends on the weather pattern at the time. It's been misty now for about 3 days, but no fear! We have a high wind advisory in effect until Sunday morning, which means it will probably blow out the mist, but then, we might have falling trees and power outages! It's never dull or boring; that's for sure!

Be careful. I hope trees won't affect anyone there.
