I think because of the weather condition in the island, people built those houses to limit the damage. Anyway, they are so beautiful, I like the way people make the roof.

What do you mean to limit the damage? The weather on Madeira is pretty much stable all year round, the temperature ranges just between 20 and 30 degrees and it rains often in all seasons. But anyway, I´m glad to know that you enjoyed the post, thanks for your visit :)
