I can imagine that you would like to get out for some walks during the day...I suppose it's still quite cold so early in the morning where you are.
But I agree with you wanting to be there for your wife. I would have felt the same. It makes sense what you say about the shoulder that is hurting is also now causing the back pain. The body tries to compensate to accommodate the pain, but that causes us to move in an unnatural way which then causes other problems...
I really hope for the best when she can see the specialist. We'll keep her in our prayers.

I have got out for a couple of morning walks going out after sunrise to visit some new spots

Yes indeed, but then again yesterday and today the morning temps were close to freezing again spring hasn't taken a good hold yet
