RE: MARKET FRIDAY || VIDA Market 🛍️🛒

I didn't understand why you would be confused (complicated with the prices?) Is this not in your native tongue?

It is definitely a beautiful store, especially in light of the fact that the stores are few and far between in those parts. Are you living there or visiting? I am trying to see if this is something you have to get along with every week. :) Seems like you have been there for a while.

I love new stores as they really are clean. There is something about stores getting old and not smelling so nice as they age. I hope you were able to get everything that you needed! I love the picture of your husband and you! You make such an adorable couple! I appreciate the love and support you are giving to #MarketFriday! I feel like the more the merrier. We have such a great group here and I encourage you to scroll through a few here and enjoy them as they will enjoy yours. There are so many challenges here on Hive and it warms my heart to see that you chose to be a part of this one. It is people such as yourself that made it into such a successful challenge! It takes a lot of effort and thoughts to put together a post for the #MarketFriday challenge. I know this first-hand and so, again, it is appreciated. Thank you again for being a part of all this! I hope you have a lovely weekend!

@dswigle Well, if I found what I was looking for, and take advantage of some offers of things that I did not need but that at any time are missing. This place is about 10 minutes from my house, here everything is relatively close because it is not such a big island.
the issue with prices is perhaps difficult to understand. When you need tomatoes and you are going to buy them, you will see the price per kilos, that is, 1 kilo of tomatoes costs 300 bolivares. then you take 6 tomatoes but you won't know the weight of them until you get to the checkout to pay for them. It is there where they will give you the weight and the total price, it is like buying blind. On the other hand, in this market you can weigh your vegetables and fruits before paying for them and thus know exactly how much you are carrying and how much you are going to pay.

I hope you understand me because the truth is complicated. we must also add that our currency is so devalued that some reflect their prices in $. We pay in $ and they give us change in $. a crazy thing right? here people do not have money in bolivars, everything is marketed in $.

I understand exactly what you mean. Sometimes here, they give you prices in kilos, then when you are comparing, the price will be in ounces... You are not able to compare to see the better value! But, yours is much worse, for sure.

I would weigh mine before I got to the cashier. Those kinds of surprises are not always good!

There are many countries that use USD instead of their own. I find this crazy too.

Exactly @dswigle, it seems to me a not very pleasant surprise because I have even had to return and add fruits, sometimes I want a kilo of something and I arrive at the box with just 600 grams. and if the truth is crazy our prices in two currencies, some even only accept $ is even worse. hopefully a good surprise brings us this week #marketfriday

I agree! Have a wonderful day!
