▶️ Do Comments Even Matter?! Recapping #CometWeek! [2,000 Hive Given Away For Engagement!] ☄️

in #hive2 years ago

I've heard this more than a few times...

"Oh yeah! I have heard of #CometWeek!"

or

"#CometWeek? What's that?!"

I always do my best to share with people why comments matter so much...

That's why it was one of those head shaking moments when someone in the comments (of course right?! lol! 😉) said to me, "It's just comments Wil." as in, "Who really cares... Why? Why does any of this commenting matter anyways?", or "Why make this a big deal? No one's going to care."

It was as if nothing really had any meaning to them... their words (online? offline?) were not meant to be lasting or authentically impactful... Or at least they didn't think so. It was as if they were in an environment with little to no air in it... and they thought that was completely fine and normal!

Obviously this was someone who hadn't taken the time to read the #CometWeek White Paper... and after 4+ years of being on this social blockchain they still didn't seem to really understand why engagement ACTUALLY MATTERS as much as it does and how a single comment CAN make a lasting difference.

For those of you reading these words and agreeing with my "apathetic in the comments" friend... I have only one recourse to convince you as to WHY COMMENTS REALLY DO MATTER!

And I'm going to tell you why by sharing a personal story.

This story all begins with LOVE.

Communication and LOVE go hand in hand don't they?

I mean... what is LOVE if you can't or don't know how to communicate it?

And for those who are single among us... learning how to LOVE and communicate that LOVE... It's of imperative importance is it not!? 😉

The biological imperative would point out the obvious fact that humans needed to evolve past grunts and groans to get their points across... 😅

I mean how are you going to effectively carry your genetic line into the future if you you aren't able to communicate LOVE to someone that matters to you.

And trust me when I say... Apathy is something the opposite sex picksUP on pretty quickly!

Anyone with half a brain cell knows this... right?! 😂

So learning how to speakUP and say something authentic, genuine, meaningful, and important... Well it's got to be one of the most important sells of your life!

Comments equals attention and that is a scarce resource in todays LOVE starved world!

It's true today just as much as it was true for me, a young in my 20's university student, over 16 years ago.

That was the day I met my wife for the 1st time... and it was online. (A bigger deal back then than it is today!)

I was scrolling along on a social1.0 network (No. It wasn't a dating website.) called Nexopia (anyone heard of it? Probably not... It's been long since shut down.) when I saw something that made me STOP IN MY TRACKS!

A profile picture of a fetching Asian girl. She was gorgeous and seemed to have natural charisma out the yin yang... and it was jumping right off the computer screen and right onto my eyeballs!!! 😍

It was undeniable... and there was no way of ignoring it!

Was this what LOVE at 1st sight felt like? 😁

Maybe... How else do you explain it? 😊

So what to do...?

Just look? 😜

Nah! That's creepy not to mention LAME! (Even back then I was someone who valued authentic genuine connection!)

Well... Back then there was no option to swipe right or left. All I could do is scroll up, down, or CLICK to COMMENT! 🤔

So that's what I went ahead and did.

They say fools rush in where angels fear to tread but for me... There was something drawing me forward... A confidence fueled by desire to KNOW WHO this girl was and what she was all about...

So I dropped a comment on her page and I said, "Someone's good looking and it's not me." 😆

And THAT (believe it or not!) is the comment that changed the last 16 years of my life to this date! And many dates followed! 2 little girls (10 & 3) + a dog later and here we are!!! 👧👶🐶

I'm blessed beyond measure and grateful as all get out that I stopped scrolling and connected with a comment that day!

So did you catch it?!

Do you still think that comments don't matter?

If you do... and your still single, alone, frustrated, jaded, brokenUP, miserable, numb, or your just struggling at everything you are trying to do in life... THEN NOW is your opportunity to rethink your entire approach to engagement and the importance of genuine authentic comments.

You are where you are today because of how you think and care about the content of other peoples lives... When you care... you comment. When you comment connection and community happen naturally. When connection and community happen trust is compounded. When trust is compounded ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING BECOMES POSSIBLE. RIGHT HERE. RIGHT NOW. [PERIOD]

We are all the product of what we have done consistently over time. Alone we are limited. TOGETHER we are unlimited.

So which side of the coin would you rather live on?

Investing in Social Capital (1st) DOES determine the Financial Capital (2nd) we all thrive and prosper with later on in life.

The decision is really UP to you... But I hope what I have shared with you today speaks directly to your heart... and impressed UPon you exactly WHY comments matter.

So commenting is all about caring. It's LOVE in the form of a comment. The better the content (CARE) the more authentic and real (CARE) the comments are reflected back at you. You create your own social environment. One that compounds care or one that deprives you of it.

And remember...
People don't care how much you know... until they know how much you care.
@wil.metcalfe

THAT is why a comment matters.

It communicates far more than what's expressed in words... if you take the time to read between the lines... your going to see it.

LOVE, ATTENTION, MEANING.

So connect with that at a deeper level!

It's a choice... and THIS is what makes all social networks better.

Want a better Hive Blockchain? A friendlier one?

COMMENT LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT... BECAUSE IT DOES!

Comments DO matter... more than many will ever know!

And remember...
Judgment removes connection AND opportunity.
@ryzeonline

So comment well my Hive friends... (and rethink that Down vote button while your at it! 😉)

Much LOVE,

I must say that commenting in social media platforms is important and necessary. I have met amazing people/Hivers because of my constant comments in peoples posts. It's important to leave meaningful comments with the intention to make to author feel valuable. In my few months here in Hive, aside from my @hivecebublogger family, I have met @justinparke of @asean.hive and his beautiful community. He has been a great supporter of my posts and I can't thank him enough. Also, I met @phortun. I saw a post of him and left a comment, next thing I know he featured a post of mine and been really supportive everytime. I can't emphasize enough how a single, meaningful and authentic comment could come a long way. I always value the people who leave comments in my posts and in return, I will do the same to those comments I leave to others. I comment with appreciation, with kindness and with support!

Thanks for the kind words my friend. I am honored to hear ASEAN Hivers say nice things about my efforts because that is what keeps me going, especially when Hive takes up 14+ hours of my day. I still am able to read and comment on every single post in the ASEAN Hive Community.

We are grateful for the support that you have also given to @hivecebubloggers members. Thank you for all the work that you're doing to Hive! <3

I just realized now that you are referring to @justinparke! hahahahaha My bad!😅😅😅

Well, you support a lot of things, Hive Cebu Bloggers and ASEAN Hive are among those 😁.

Thank you so much @justinparke, my friend @breakn3ck is really happy every time we talked about how nice you are and though his post is weird and exotic you welcome him by tagging your community. 😊🥰

Haha all my post are normal 🤣

That means a lot to me, the Filipino/a Hivers are a huge part of the ASEAN Hive Community, and I hope it continues to serve as a place where Hive curators know they can find high quality original content free of microblog posts and plagiarism. I am always shocked how most people in ASEAN Hive get pretty good post payouts from curators outside our community, but I have nothing to do with that because I have never managed to find any whale support for SE Asian content.

Funny thing is, it now looks like we don't even need it because we've managed to grow grassroots style.

You're welcome Gil. I will always be grateful for introducing Hive to me 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

14 hours a day??? Your eyes must get really tired?

I obviously have some time management issues I need to sort out.

You're welcome! You deserve all the appreciation because your efforts a lot of people are motivated to post and stay in the platform.

Give thanks my friend, I've unfortunately had to mute more people than there are members of ASEAN Hive Community, but this has helped me to control plagiarism and post dumpers. I don't want ASEAN Hive to become a victim of its own growth like NatMed was. I learned a hard lesson about the importance of keeping things like this in check, and I think that's been something that helped us climb quickly.

It's sad that people go to the extent of abusing the benefits of Hive. Running a community is no joke. The responsibility it entails requires a lot of knowledge and patience.

This is exactly the way to make the world a wonderful place to live in ❤️ Let's keep spreading the love!

Yes! Lets spread love!!! The world has so much darkness and hate that spreading love seems to be a luxury when infact everyone of ha is capable of doing it!!! Whatever you do, choose kindness.

It's possible - but why are so many choosing hate?

I know. Which is really sad. It's not that difficult and doesnt require so much effort.

It's incredible when you look at how the web of connections all come together isn't it?! And with every comment those cobwebs of connection compound into cables of connection! 💪

When I was in university I would tell myself that "Strangers are just friends I haven't met yet." and to this day I'm still telling myself the same thing. Going out of my comfort zone has really served me well!

Now I look for situations that look to be THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE and I point myself in that direction because I know that THIS is where the most personal growth is going to be... AND ALSO the most CONNECTIONS!

Putting myself into newer and newer situations means that I'm meeting new people and learning new things all along the way! When I was a kid the phone would ring and I would run the opposite direction... now I run towards whatever is ringing me in! 😆

I see that this has also been working great for you as well @asasiklause! Honestly man! Thank you for leaving your thoughts here on the latest @Comet.Ranker post!

EVERY comment from EVERYONE is so appreciated! 😄

@wil.metcalfe

I've been socially awkward most of my life. Personally, I don't like hanging out with a crowd but then I realized it's because I hang out with the wrong crowd. It's best to know and to have people that surrounds you are those with great energy. I was used to be drained because I acquainted myself with people who are full of negativity. I was innocent by that idea before but now I am awake.

I always make to the point to comment to people and make sure to reply to their comments. In other messaging apps or social media platforms, I hate to leave people "seen zoned" and I, myself would hate to be "seen zoned". Commenting comes a long way. It sometimes the start of a long lasting friendship/relationship.

Commenting really matters! Because that's how your story begins. 😄 Me and my partner started that way but in a form of question. Lol then when he respond it was then the beginning of everything and we are now near 2 years together. Engagement isn't just about socializing, its about knowing who and what. If I didn't respond to my friend @explorewithsasha to join Hive, I won't be able to discover this wonderful community! I'm just glad I did. 😄☺

Aweee that's sweet and thank you for giving this community a go! I can see how everyone improves and I am so happy. Keep it up babe!!

Absolutely babe and if without your guidance I won't be able to experience everything I have right now. So all thanks to you! 😊😘🤗

Sweet! I guess it's thanks to @purepinay because she's the one who invited us all here. 😙😊

Yes yes truly! For doing the best you can @purepinay for the team. You are really amazing. 😊🤗

That's a really awesome point you know... THAT is how every story begins isn't it!? And your right... questions uncover what matters and why.

Asking the right question can lead you to the right answer... Imagine if your forever never asked you that question? 😱

Questions take courage, curiosity, and care. Questions also show that you have someone's full attention and respect... in a world where everyone seems to be talking and no one seems to be listening... I would say that he was freaking brilliant! Questions show vulnerability and all opportunity comes via this path. He's a lucky man! 😊

Thank you for sharing your story! I wish you and your forever many more years together and HEY stick close with those friends too... they aren't a dime a dozen! They are one in a million from what I can see! 😁

What a generous giveaway, I don't know how I missed this. I tend to get so caught up in things within ASEAN Hive Community that I often can't find time to explore beyond. Give thanks for all the value you bring to Hive my man. I hope eventually I come up my delegation to support this awesome project even more.

Honestly Justin! Thank you for delegating what you have already! 🙏

I'm just so glad that @Comet.Ranker can become a beacon to bring positively charged people together! You fit right in here and I'm so glad you have decided to come along for the ride!

There's another event coming very soon. I'm currently developing it in my free moments. Only clue... Operation #Ping!

Keep your eye on the Comet... Because the Comet is coming! ☄️

@wil.metcalfe
P.S. And YES! I'll have to be watching more closely what your doing with the ASEAN Hive Community so I don't miss anything either! Is there an account or hashtag I should be following in order to do that?

Such a beautiful love story! I am smiling while reading it ❤️. They said it was destiny that I met again my childhood friend and now my fiancee.
Destiny will just bring you closer to your soulmate; you will be surprised how many times destiny will try until you notice it, but it's your move that matters. Take it from this story, if Wil did not click that "comment" button, who knows when destiny will bring her again in his life 😍 ❤️.

It's so true you know... I would like to think that destiny would "give me another chance" but I believe in making my own luck... so I wasn't about to let that opportunity slip by without taking action! I'm lucky I guess!

Annnnnd! By the sounds of it your lucky as well! How often do people get a second chance at finding their forever? I hope that good luck and making your own luck bring you both closer and closer together and that happiness finds it's way to you day in and day out @queenmeiko22!😊

You mentioned that your engaged! (That's a sign of engagement isn't it! hahaha! 😆) So! When's the big day? Have you guys figured that out yet? 🙂

Yes, I am engaged! Still waiting for our papers to be process. Stuck in the embassy 😔. Thankful for Hive. I got to do something I really enjoy before I get busy.haha 😂

Hahahaha! Yep! Married life is busy life for sure for sure! 😆 But always do the things that make you happy! Bring that independent joy into all you do and maybe your Mr. Right will catch the blogging bug as well! You never know right!? 😉

Oh my..
I m definitely gonna be using that catchy line soon.

Yeah. I m huge on comments too and one of the comments I made that changed something about me was on a hive post as a newbie where I practically tried to be honest about loving the post and made suggestions on what could make it better. That reply I got really sparked up my hive experience here as it lead me into deeper understand of hive and how it really works.
I ll keep commenting, that how I found this post too. Thanks..
I ll probably make a post on the assignment too.

I'm sure glad that you found your way onto this post and decided to leave this comment! I just added you and I'm looking forward to your up-and-coming posts! Your new to Hive and so I must also welcome you here as well! 😊

You know... It's interesting but you did bring this up. I often learn more in the comments than I do in the actual post. I mean if you really want to learn the nitty grittys it's usually gonna be in the comments. With some curiosity and digging you'll find out all manor of things you normally wouldn't.🤓

In fact!!! I'll admit it... Sometimes I don't even read the post. I read the title, look at the header picture, and then skip right down to the bottom and start reading through the comments! Chances are (if the comments are interesting) I might (might!) come back to the post and give that a read if the comments sold me on the idea! 🙃

So there you go! Confirmation that you are indeed onto something! So much can be learned by taking the time to comment... and reading through what's being said bellow!

@jaydr! It's been great connecting with you here!

I look forward to doing this more! 🙂

@wil.metcalfe

This is really true.
I have many times caught my self reading the comments before breezing through the the lost and dashing back to the comments.

And I agree that the life of the post is in the comments.

Many people actually drop and get and leave.

But I m more interested in comments, criticism and commendation and way to make my posts, especially music, better in terms of sound production and that has really help me a lot as I have gotten many of such comment and replies.

I m almost done with the assignment too. I hope its a lovely read for you. I hope you don't mind is a tagged you to it. I ve been try to figure out where to post it. What community?

Thanks.

I think you said something important. When you comment you are listening, learning, and indicating to the author of the post the contents value. Interaction triggers a cascade of value that’s unlocked from the post.

I would even say that taking the time to engage with people down bellow the content is more about giving than receiving.

The people that dash and go… that’s like eating fast food. It might sustain you but ultimately your not getting nearly what you could be by giving a little in the comments.

@dreemsteem is someone who really gets this! In fact she said in her comment on this post that content is an invitation! It’s an opportunity to extrapolate connect learn!

It could even be an opportunity to disagree… constructively.

The comment section is what brings the artifact to life… otherwise it’s only a dead document.

Thanks for taking me in your recent writeUP! I’ll be checking that out for sure! 🤜🤛

hehehe yes - dash and go is the fast food of the social media platforms.

it's ok once in a while - cuz sometimes that's all you have time for - right?

but its BEST to sustain yourself on a "home cooked meal" which gives time to digest! hahahaha (digest the comment!) lol

love that metaphor @wil.metcalfe !!!! that's PERFECT! HAHAHAHA

Hmm..
Some home made life changing comment you have there. I ll begin to see it like this from now on. @dreemsteem

hahahaha well that is Wil's statement - hehehe I just was agreeing :) but glad it helped! and I'm sure he is glad too heheheheh

I thought you might appreciate this one! 😉

One comment definitely changed my life when I came across a post by a certain pirate captain, and we kept on chatting back and forth! I'm now on the Teem of her new project ❤️

I expected that someone, such as yourself, (who is a commenting machine I'll add!) would have something to say about how the words bellow a post impacted you and how a certain (ehhhhmmm!) captain had something to say that forged an unbreakable bond founded upon engagement! hint! hint! @dreemsteem 😜

A machine? That reminds me of a time I got called a bot 🤣🤣🤣

How did you ever guess what I'd say 😂?

!PIZZA !ALIVE

@wil.metcalfe! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @wrestlingdesires. (4/10)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want.

Someone accused you of being a bot?! Gahahahaha! Well… if your a bot then the world is in a heap of trouble because clearly virtual intelligence has already gone sentient and the next thing we know there will be terminators dropping from the sky! 🤣

Hahaha! Lucky guess I guess! Or maybe it takes one to know one?! Yarrrrrrrrr! 🏴‍☠️

🤣🤣🤣 Not accused of it, a couple of people were joking about it with me on a site I was running, and a 15 year old took it seriously, and discussed with me whether or not I was a bot!!! He was genuinely upset!

I do think, comments does matter... btw -- intresting, why are you being downvoted?.. hmm...

So you noticed!? That’s gotta be the question of the hour now right?

There are people on this blockchain that would like to group think us all. They have an agenda I believe. But I love freedom. I believe we all have a voice and what we have to say is valuable.

In fact… without recognizing the value in what everyone has to say… I don’t believe that it is possible to innovate anything meaningful.

I reward comments… comments show that people are not just about having something to say… they also show that someone cared enough to listen (to understand?) and say something meaningful.

Imagine if we could post content but no one could comment? That would be a one way vacuum wouldn’t it? Where would the connection be?

So these are the values I represent with @comet.ranker… people who downvote comments (as you can see happening to my account)… do they understand what they are doing to the social fabric of Hive? What values are they supporting out into the world?

It is a very good question to ask when you see something like this happening…

Maybe they are trying to stop me from speaking?

There are all sorts of reasons why someone would do something like this… and it’s telling.

Judgement (in this way) strips connection and opportunity away from both the person being judged… and from the person doing the judging…

I hope that things change around here and I’m doing what I can to be a catalyst for positive change on the blockchain.

Thank you for your curiousity. 🙂

comments show that people are not just about having something to say… they also show that someone cared enough to listen (to understand?) and say something meaningful.

Imagine if we could post content but no one could comment?

well, actually we are in same boat, speaking of this. I communicate a lot, sometimes I can share smth useful in comments, a vision, or guides, or fresh infoi about a contest. sometimes its just communication for fun and killing time (especially when I talk with my friends)... I dont pretend they contain a lot of meaning in itself... but they do have meaning for the blockchain, cause - exactly as you put it - otherwise we all are just lost in a desert. thousands of authors crying in a desert (or name it void..) in search for the readers. (and theres no riders, obviously. nobody cares). this is perhaps my biggest fear and frustration of the Steemit/Hive. Happily, I do not feel being in a void. My posts are being upvoted, posts are being watched and commented back... probably due to their quality (at leas I hope so) and my engagement 9which is not a false one). hmmm.

There. That’s exactly it. You are not alone… and a comment is proof of anti-echo. What I would like to know… why are there people around here thinking that the DV is going to make this place better? Yes… DV spam. Yes… DV plagiarism. Yes… DV harmful content. But DV genuine comments? Not to mention the content… they are doing that as well… as if this is behaviour that is going to lift us all up and show the world how much better we are…

But hey! I’m just glad we are connecting here in the comments like this!

Keep making them and don’t let anyone deter you in #SpeakingUP and making your voice known!

Comments always follow quality and in there own right… a comment is worth more (social capital) than an UPvote (or DV) can ever communicate.

Let’s all continue to engage and connect! Let’s all continue to innovate new and better ways to human… TOGETHER!

We just got to remember… how we decide to connect determines our social and financial outcomes.

I’m confident that there’s so many really decent people on this blockchain and I’m on a mission to find them ALL!

Thank you for being one of them! ☄️

Maybe this sounds lame??? But comments change every day of my life. Even if people don't believe it, I mean it. And I'm not going to change what I say to make it easier for people to believe.

I LOVE the comment section. The post - is great - but the POST is just the invitation.

The comment section is the CONVERSATION that happens with people.

I have connected with so many souls through comments. laughters, tears, anger, peace, whatever - it's all connecting. It's all what is NEEDED by humans.

there are undoubtedly people here that just want to come, drop anything, rake in rewards, and leave. And - hopefully people will notice that and not encourage that type of behavior. Hopefully, they will take the time to truly connect with others and ENJOY what is here- just offered on a post - an willing invitation to hear and be heard by another human being.

DreemPort was built through comments. That's how I met every single person on the team.

I met someone, engaged with them, and saw something special in the conversation that happened in the comment section of their posts. Then we moved it to discord - and the rest was history.

Don't give up Wil.

Keep doing what you're doing and being who you are. (i know you will be. hahaha i'm just saying it cuz reminders are good!)

LOL

I LOVE THAT DREEMS!

comments changed every day of my life.

The way you said that as a recognition that comments and connection is a living dynamic action that happens daily... by choice and with anticipation!

The content IS ALWAYS EVERY TIME AN INVITATION to connect around that content in meaningful and maybe even transformative ways! (Depends on how authentic and real one is able to communicate.)

This is a really good way to approach writing content because you are thinking about WHO you are writing for right from the start. This is how you stay relevant... and by bringing it all together in the comments... THAT'S HOW YOU STAY IMPACTFUL!

I'm so encouraged by your recognition that @DreemPort was founded UPon connecting in the comments. I have so much respect for what you have done, what your doing, and what your going to do Dreems!

Thank you for checking in to make sure the Comet is still LIT! ☄️

Your encouragement means more than you know.

Let's both continue to compound trust everywhere we go! 🙌

@wil.metcalfe

oh we will :)

I dont know any other way (nor do I want to hehehe)

and yes - people should ALWAYS think about their audience when they're writing.

If it's just writing for themselves?? that's totally fine! But then they aren't expecting connection. so - its good.

But its the people who write as if they are ENTITLED to some recognition that's off-putting

Write in a way that encourages people to come join in the fun and love and engagement - and the ones you WANT to connect with... WILL COME. hahahaha

❤️

I still remember, the time I tried to comment to the person I like just so she can notice me or hoping so Lol!!! And this coming Nov, 22 will be our 1st anniversary hooray 😊

Awesome story @wil.metcalfe , and I'm a fairly engaged / verbose commenter.

Here's my story:

Commenting pulled me out of a 2+ year period of homeless-living on cold Toronto streets. It was by commenting daily in a celebrity-entrepreneurs forums, offering my advice and supporting people on his web-forum, that got me on his radar and led to me working closely with him for about a decade. Commenting literally changed my life. ;) 🙏

That's so awesome :) Comments literally got you a warm home???

Well, I believe it's more about beliefs, emotion, law of attraction, and each individuals personal experiences/journey/stage-of-readiness... but yeah... comments basically got me a warm home. :) 🙏

I love that it came about purely from helping others ❤️

!PIZZA !ALIVE

@ryzeonline! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @wrestlingdesires. (1/10)

Yeah, helping / serving / providing value to others (without agenda) creates a vibration of abundance and generosity, which ends up being reflected back to us.

Most successful businesses began by 'helping people' or 'solving problems' or 'serving others', and it looks like I'm no different, lol :)

Thanks for the pizza and life! <3 🙏

So do I! So many people think the world is a dog eat dog world... but Jay is living proof that you really can make a difference and lift yourselfUP while helping others!

It truly is amazing when you think about it. The human spirit is capable of so much AND every limit we hit in our lives can be overcome with LOVE & CONNECTION!

Imagine how this story could have endedUP?

For so many people living homeless doesn't end the way it did for Jay... I think that's the LOVE that drives @ryzeonline to this very day... He's got his very own nuclear reactor powering him (and the small city of people he is helping!) ❤️

Let's all take this to heart and continue to look for ways to help others.

Wooooooooooo! Let the love... #ryze ! 🙏

Definitely :) It's not hard to smile at someone, or do some other act of kindness!

I would love to hear more success stories like his :) It reminds me of a friend (now passed) who always tried to help anyone who was genuine, regardless of their money, status, experience, intelligence, etc. Despite having millions of USD, he spread love and it always ended up making him even more successful.

!PIZZA !ALIVE !LUV !LOL

In my past life I was a turtle.
It is slowly coming back to me.

@wil.metcalfe, I sent you an $LOLZ on behalf of @wrestlingdesires
Use the !LOL or !LOLZ command to share a joke and an $LOLZ. (1/4)

A beautiful story, and a path I aim to walk similarly. 🙏

That's just a marvelous example of how love and connection changed your life Jay! Thank you for sharing a bit of your life story and how you went from point 🅰️ to point 🅱️ here in the comments of this post.

Your positive mental blueprint truly did guide you through those dark and cold times. I can't even imagine being homeless in Toronto (for not 1 winter but 2 winters!!!). Being homeless in Canada is NO F'ing JOKE!

WOW!

So I have been doing a lot of thinking about love and how it effects everything we do. It's where anything extra/exceptional happens. I think that's why I instinctively wanted to talk about love and connect that with the importance of commenting. (Gut Check!)

I think that when you LOVE something (someone) that the actions become a whole lot easier... instinctive almost!

Thank you for contributing to the message I'm sharing within this post and thank you for supporting my efforts on Hive as we EXPLORE way's to make a difference beginning with a single comment.

It's simple yet so much energy potential is waiting...

And I'm excited...

Operation #Ping is right around the corner! ☄️

Yeah it's a pretty amazing story, to tell and even moreso to live it, lol. Thanks for inviting me to share.

Yeah, the details of my homeless winters in Toronto are... interesting, to say the least. A simple thing like a 'snowstorm' doesn't bother most people, but for me they were disaster-level events.

Yes, love is the 'highest vibe' human's can manage on earth while remaining in physical form, I believe. Extremely powerful. And it's a very 'gut-check' based thing, which is a big part of what makes it easy.

Yes, tons of potential that I'm psyched to see expressed. #ping #ryze 🙏

I LOVE your story, Wil. So sweet and I love what you're doing to build a community and make Hive a better place.

I also met @ryzeonline online (that's a mouthful lol - OMG 😝). I saw him in an interview on YouTube and fell in love instantly. I spent 3 days reading his IG content (he had 500 posts then and I read every post, comment, and reply). I HAD to talk to him but I was afraid. I tried to sign up for his newsletter (with 5 different email addresses lol) and I wasn't able to sign up (the Universe was pushing me to msg him) and I finally reached out and left him a comment in his DM on IG. And the rest is history. One comment led to the beautiful, happy life I now have.

Comments can change lives. They can make lives brighter. They make people smile. They can bring joy and happiness. I LOVE what you're doing Wil. Keep it up.

I'll also answer the other question...what do I like about most people? Depends on the person. I used to be super unfriendly and hated everyone. Now I like people who help others. People who spread love and joy. That's my favorite. But I also love people who like to laugh and who make me laugh.

Sooooooo much love,
Cyn

Hahaha! That is a tongue twister isn't it!? Meeting @ryzeonline online! What an EPIC story! I can only admire your determination to catch that mans attention! Reading 500 posts, comment, and reply Cyn!? HOLY DyNaMiTe girl!!! Your a woman who knows EXACTLY what you want and you went DIRECTLY for it! (Jay! When did you realize that this girl had you under the microscope and she was groaking what she saw!? I just really wanted to use that word... hahaha! 😆)

You love my story but I gotta say Cyn... I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your story too!

Your living proof of manifesting what you want from life and that is the sort of story that gives hope, energy, and so much more to those who need it Cyn! Thank you for sharing this story!

And thank you as well for not just believing in Jay... but also believing in me and what I'm doing with @Comet.Ranker. This means so much. 💛

You know... Your the only one who decided to do the Home Work portion of this post! There's that energy again Cyn! Your such a go-get-er and I LOVE THAT!

I'm glad that you took the time to share this little snap shot of your previous life.

So many people don't actually like people one bit as bizarre as it sounds! This is one of those questions that can actually surprise people and it is telling to watch people process the question especially if it's asked in person!

But here's the thing... once you know and are able to genuinely answer this question it makes it a whole lot easier to comment with authenticity and from an open state of being.

This is exactly why I thought I would ask the question... and I'm so glad that you gave me this insightful answer. I really wish that more people would give this one some thought.

You like it when people are helpful and have a sense of humor. Surrounding yourself with more people who are helpful and like to laugh is all about letting the human-beings around you shine... Saying (out loud) what you like best about people gives them permission and also cues your reticular activating system to search out and find these sorts of traits in people... It's also a way of repelling the aspects of humanity that you would like to avoid... with a positive mental SHIFT!

Thank you for being a living example of this by sharing your stories Cyn!

Much love,

@wil.metcalfe

LOL that shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me that I did the homework bwhaha. I'm a nerd I can't help it. The word homework makes me happy haha! When I first met Jay and he started sending me tons of "homework" to read, and watch (YT Videos) it made me so happy. I can't help it. I love it.

I attract people like me, people who love to help and spread joy. That's why you found us. Cuz we just attract those like us.
I love positive mental shifts.

Thank you for your amazing comment and comet ranker. I know you have a big heart and want to make Hive a better place, which you already are by just being you.

Much love,
Cyn

Jay! When did you realize that this girl had you under the microscope and she was groaking what she saw!? I just really wanted to use that word... hahaha! 😆

Awww.. That was really a sweet story of you and your wife. I believe engagement through comments are the most friendly approach especially if your comments are genuine and authentic. Now I know whats the secret! I might drop a comment on my crush's page to get noticed🥰🤣 Well, we never know. 😅 Right guys? @explorewithsasha @asasiklause @itsmiessyonpeakd @cheerupwithjl @gerel @jongcl ? Haha! There's a forever in the comment section! 🤭🤭🤭

I met Ras in an online game called Ingress. By simply responding to the question he asked in the group. Who's in this area? Hahhaa Never know how powerful comments or responses can change your life forever! Now, happily living together for 5 years. Living the dream we both dreamed with two cats and a lot of swimming under the sun☀️! Lol.

Am not surprised you @hivecebubloggers are already here before I even finish reading the blog above. So thank you, @hivecebubloggers for engaging all the time!

Wil has been looking out for me and never expected it and I really awe to him and earned his respect.

@xplosive I do have an answer to your question but this is just my personal opinion.
Engagement is maybe not be for everyone, others might have other priorities but I have also been highlighting the importance of engagement in previous blogs. You have to make to know people and this is connecting with them through comments. Since I started this journey four years ago, lots of those whose been following can attest how much time I would spend commenting on everyone's, it was over quite too much and I got a little burned out.

So personally, I would only leave comments on blogs that caught my attention or someone that shares the passion that I have. You don't have to overly do coz you also have to make time for other important things like your family, your health, and your personal growth outside Hive.

Engagement is really important because without it's such a lonely place to be in. That's just me and if I have to highlight the importance pf engagement over and over again using other terminologies that would tag me as recycling of materials, I would. So this shows that I need to expand more my vocab.

Okay, I have to end here and come back next time. It's bed time.

Yes of course @sassycebuana , you can actually find new friends when you keep engaging. ❤️😊

kamag laag lagi ninyo, haha!

I agree with you that a comment can be a show of love that might have more impact than we realize.

There was a comment on my introduction post from a then stranger that has been the brightest spot in my journey on the hive.

When I started on hive about 2months ago I was pretty much feeling my way along since I didn't know anyone to ask and all I could rely on was google and let me not get started on how frustrating that was because most Times I wasn't able to find the solution I sought.

In The comment I am talking about,he welcomed me to hive, left some tips, and the best part? he included a link to a discord help group that helps with every and any hive-related issue. as you can imagine thanks to that comment I stopped relying on Google for answers as I now have real people to talk to and yes this made everything so much easier for me on the hive.

So a comment can be a great means to creating connections, real connections that last just like it did with you and your wife, good job taking the bull by the horn 👍

🤔 now I'm guessing I should go find out what Comet is lol happened on this post by chance but awesome stuff 👍

Why do you/we have to constantly/regularly explain to/convince people that commenting is important on a social network? Why many people focus on individual growth instead of collective growth? This is like throwing away one of the best advantages (and the essence) of this platform.

It's because they only focus on posts, instead of people. Change the focus, change the habit.

@xplosive @wrestlingdesires

There's an obsession with content generation rather than authentic connection on Hive... and it's backwards in every way... sort of like that Dr. Seuss story where the whatchamicallit's are arguing about what side of the toast to butter. The top say some. The bottom say others. But in reality... this blockchain means nothing if we forget who it is made for...

How we human is what makes this real... or not. Comments are the propellers that drive our content forward with any and every innovation.

Something as state of the art as Hive absolutely needs a connecting community of people around the content it generates if we are going to pull it all off and innovate something deserving of the word "blockchain".

HOW we human matters while we pull this off. We all live in a social world and it's the content AND the connection between us that makes life meaningful, rich, and worthwhile.

Definitely :) I really hope we can get the comments section sizzling soon ☄️☄️☄️

He needs a cult following.

What I like most about people is their potential for kindness, greatness, and love... especially when it's expressed. 🙏

Many golden nuggets here. One of them is this:

"Comments equals attention and that is a scarce resource in today’s LOVE starved world!"

Though it reminds me of a painful memory, here is another:

“You are where you are today because of how you think and care about the content of other people’s lives . . . .”

I could not remember any single comment that caused a breakthrough in my life. That’s a very difficult question for me to answer. As to what I like most about people, I think that’s easier, but a quality that is very rare to find: someone trustworthy.

It's always nice to see all recognisable faces in comments!

One comment can make you a friend, maybe earn you a follower. Comments are a way to repay the author for some of their time with some of your own time. I love getting comments.
