I am sure in the future, when schools teach how this industry was born, this will be a case study of how the old "centralism" tried to keep its rules over the "decentralism" and did not manage to succeed.
On top of all the drama, JS has probably some influence in hive's recent price dump. Just one account is dumping lots of hive to the markets to force the price to go down, but eventually, it will dry out and the market will move up again.

My best guess is once that account is empty binance will magically shortly after enable withdrawals, either them or bithumb or huobi oooor more large stakeholders get softforked so they can maintain their illusion that Steem is worth more than Hive.
