The News

I am sure a lot of you saw that the $HIVE price jumped this week. It did not manage to stay above 9c, but it has settle higher than it was before. I hope some people were able to profit from this, but also that others took notice when it was one of the biggest climbing coins. Of course Hive is far more than just an investment with something for everyone.

It has been another busy week with updates from @worldmappin, @ecency, @keychain and witness @howo. I recommend following @hivetoday for more in-depth news.

The other big news is the announcement from @hivefest about the next big meetup. That will be in Barcelona in September.

Friday Follows

• I have been following updates from Hive Open Days in Alicante last weekend. You can find posts about it from @schmidi, @livinguktaiwan, @palomap3 and others.
• I just saw a nice list of Hive statistics resources from @cryptoreforma. You can track your own account and the chain in general with these.
• @acidyo has been posting updates about Scrobble.life that lets you log your music listening on the blockchain via a browser extension. The extensions for Chrome and Firefox should be in the respective stores soon, but it is possible to load them via a download for now.
• @an1info may have been on the blockchain before, but this is his new account on Hive. He makes videos about Linux and other technology. He started well by powering up direct to Dolphin.

The Dog House

This is less about misdemeanors on the blockchain than avoiding trouble. Anyone who understands how Hive works knows that everything we do here is preserved indefinitely as transactions. That is every vote, post, and comment, including previous versions if you edit later. So you should be very conscious that things can come back to haunt you.

This is why I am always careful about what I do and say. I was part of an anti-abuse group years ago and so anyone can see all the downvotes I handed out. I avoided following downvote trails as I wanted full control of those so that I could be sure that they were justified. We should each make our own decisions about what we vote on, but if you trust someone enough then you can follow their trails.

You could try hiding behind alternative accounts, but you would have to be careful as any interaction between them can also be seen. I have always been open about those I control and have not tried to be anonymous. I can see why some people hide their identity and there can be various reasons for that. I expect that you could use 'AI' agents to investigate people these days and find links on other platforms to identify them, so anonymity may become harder to achieve.

My strategy has been to be open and honest. I do not have to agree with everyone here, but I can choose who I engage with. I am not one to seek confrontation, but some people are into that. Hive has to be fun for me and I try to make it better for others.

The End

A slight increase in the $Hive price ought to be grounds for optimism and we should ensure that the wider world knows about is. As I said to someone this week, we are all the marketing department.
